Homecoming Are These Actors Similar?

You probably already know what I'm gonna say. But I'm bored. And let's admit it, we have nothing better to discuss until the actor is announced. Now I've noticed some similarities in the most popular choices for Spider-Man.

Tobey Maguire, Logan Lerman, and Asa Butterfield. Tobey Maguire is widely known amongst Spider Fans as an actor who did great as Peter but wasn't able to propely pull off a comedic Spider-Man. Many fans have brought up that they believed Lerman and Asa would have the same problem. Nailed Peter but fall flat as a wise cracking webhead. Additional similarities include the blue eye color they share, and the signature baby face they have. All considered to be great superior actors to the next three I will mention.


Andrew Garfield, Dylan O'Brien and Tom Holland. Andrew Garfield was though of by many fans as a perfect Spider-Man. But many weren't satisfied with his Peter. He was more comedic as Peter. Many think Dylan's comdey background will aid him as Spider-Man. But a couple have stated that he may not be able to pull off Peter due to(and I know this is BS) his handsome and likeable nature. Tom's father is a comedian and many have stated the apple didn't fall to far from the tree and he has been known to joke around. Alot think he could pull off a perfect Spider-Man as well. The similarities between Dylan and Tom also stretch further. As many have said they would be able to nail both Peter and Spidey. Where Tobey and Andrew couldn't.




Perhaps it's just me, hell it probably is. You'd be surprised the stuff you think about when you're bored. But I just want everyone's opinion. Are there similarities/connections between these actors or is it just a convenience?

The funny thing is, I liked Tobey over Andrew, but I prefer Dylan and Tom.

Tobey came off sincere. Andrew, to me, came off a bit of a jerk as Peter, particularly in the first one. And his Spidey also came off a bit jerky and juvenile (particularly the car jacking scene). His Spidey came off better in ASM2.

Dylan I think would be ideal. His comic background, his resemblance to 616 Pete, and his love of the character, makes me think he's the perfect choice.

Tom looks more like Pete to me (primarily the brown eyes) and comes across warmer and friendlier. I just hope he can handle the quips when compared to the established MCU actors. If his father is a comedian, maybe some of it rubbed off on him.

Asa does give me some Tobey vibes, which I'm completely fine with since I want something a bit closer to his Peter Parker again (just more emphasis he's a genius, and show it, please!).

Tom gives me some Andrew vibes, which I'm completely fine with since I want something a bit closer to his Spider-Man again.

I don't know who I want, though both would be fine by me.
