Wasn't there a longer cut supposed to be in the works?
Or at least give me a commentary and some freaking features!

You can find an unofficial longer cut (15mins extra) on eBay.

I have heard that a special edition is on the cards. It is a movie which needs more time to breathe, it could stretch to three hours IMO.

Thanks for the info, Kevin

I might look for that version and then just wait for a longer, official release then.

Is Winona Ryder nude in this longer version ;)

I refuse to buy the current releases of the film on DVD.

But would gladly buy a SE with hopefully a decent amount of extra features.

The Special Edition is long over due. There's one scene I read that should've never been cut.

Yay!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a new special edition of Bram Stoker's Dracula which stars Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, and Keanu Reeves. The two-disc special edition will include a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen presentation, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include a video introduction by Francis Ford Coppola, an audio commentary by Coppola, a documentary, deleted scenes, the trailer, and more. A Blu-ray edition will also be available for around $28.95. We've attached the official package artwork below:

Ok, now I want a director's cut for The 13th Warrior!! :cmad:

Why buy all these dvd when blu-ray is going to take over?

Yes, I'm not spending hundereds of dollers just so I can buy movies I already have.

Holy-! That's a hell of a cover!

Not a director's cut though. :(

I'd get it for the commentary, as long as it isn't too much. The normal DVD only cost like 8 bucks, and that was in a set with Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.

That armor always bugged me though. Ribbed leather armor made like plate armor is such a bizarre idea and is totally out of nowhere. Unless it's supposed to be copper, but that's still really strange.

That's why it's so cool. It's so weird-! The dude is Dracula, after all.

It depends on the lighting, I think. This picture makes it look like copper or something, which is awesome:

This, though, looks like he's wearing oxblood shoe leather armor:

The only thing I didn't like about the movie was Keanu. He's a block of wood and his attempt at an accent bordered on parody.

Anyone have info on the deleted scenes?

I never seen this movie fully, only certain scenes on tv. I saw Oldman as dracula and he looked completely ridiculous with that blonde wig(I remember a Leslie Nelson Dracula spoof movie where Nelson had hair like that). The wig I'm talking bout is the one you see on the DVD cover that gammy posted.

Anyone got more pics of Oldman/Dracula?

He's old and has that hair just for the first section of the movie.
