From what the description of a new trailer is, it sounds like we're getting a love triangle between Bruce, Rachel, and Harvey. Does anyone else have any concerns about this? Especially if one of the reasons Harvey gets driven over the edge is because of the
rumored death of Rachel, and he ends up blaming Batman for it
?

No concerns, I think it could work really well. An extra dynamic between three of the most important characters.

Plus, they had to give Rachel something to do this time.

It sounds a really small plot point, IF that.

Look at all the other stuff going on in this film, you think Nolan is the type of director to focus on a love triangle?

No i don't have concerns. I'm sure Nolan can handle the relationship between these three characters without it becoming a soap opera.

With the absence of any kind of romantic interest in Begins, I welcome this plotline.

Don't mind it, personally. It's not exactly going to be a predominant theme throughout the film; it's just going to be played with a bit in a few scenes and possibly fleshed out a lot more in one or two more scenes. Nothing to worry about.

I don't think it'll be a major thing, like some have said. But it will definitely be visible and that is good, it could really add to his struggle in accepting his responsibilities.

well they made it seem like a big deal in the trailer i saw yesterday.

well do you think rachel will love bruce or batman?
i kno she knows brue is batman... but will she show public affection towards bruce or the batman

Well, in these types of films there is always going to be an emotional story arc, and I can see it being a love triangle in this instance. Not suprising.

I look forward to a romantic sub plot

I love how some of these superhero movies mask the love stories within the guise of an action thriller. It makes for a better movie experience.

I remember Jett suggested this EXACT love triangle shortly after the release of BB... and everyone called him an idiot. I guess Nolan thought it was a good idea.

It's like my wife said. You never have a good movie without a love interest of some sort. They go hand in hand.

Nobody deserves to be called an idiot. I think it is because of Jett's accuracy rate. He breaks some big ones and fumbles sometimes, it is what it is.

Exactly. Your wife is smart.

It's a plot point in The Prestige. He has form. Lucklily, this time there's a good actress on board.

I hope it is done well, is all. Harvey should be driven over the edge by the demands of the job and the unique pressures of Gotham, not by the love of a woman.

I'm just worried about a Revenge of the Sith scenario, where Harvey gets scarred, and decides to "become" Two-Face because of that possible spoiler. I want him to become Two-Face because he's already kind of screwed up in the head, not because of some woman.

Why wouldn't he? I can't think of one, but name a recent movie that was successful and didn't have a love story/interest of some sort.

Love is in the air....

usually in a superhero movie it's always the hero going "we can't be together.....just in case."

In this point (from what was set up in Begins), Bruce wants a relationship with Rachel, but she won't with him.

Leave it to Nolan to flip the standards on their head. :)

Whoa...Johansson is a great actress! Have you seen Girl with a Pearl Earring, she is amazing in that. Unfortunately, she had nothing to do in The Prestige...it was a bit part....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nolan and I think The Prestige is his finest achievement to date, but he and Jonah fumbled a bit with the part of Olivia.
