I'm kind of hoping Sony goes the opposite way to DC (who are casting stars) and cast actors that are the cusp of breaking out but haven't landed their major role yet or are well respected but tend to take smaller roles and will relish the chance to star in a blockbuster.

Sinister Six
Goblin - Dahaan
Doc Ock - Mads Mikkelsen
Vulture - Charles Dance
Chameleon - Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow)
Kraven - Joe Manganiello (True Blood)
Shocker - Norman Reedus (Walking Dead)

Plus I'm not sure they'll have the money to hire someone with Jamie Foxx's name recognition again. Great choices all around, though I'm not sure about Chameleon or Shocker being included. Maybe dial down the Rhino suit a bit and focus most of the effects work on Mysterio.

Six B villains joining together makes them equal to one A villain.

I don't want Rhino anywhere near S6.

Chameleon can bring the duplicity and Shocker can be the point of view new comer who asks the questions for the audience (like Wolverine in X1).

To each their own. The duplicity aspect could be provided by Mysterio too. Although their sources of energy are completely different, Shocker runs the risk of being too reminiscent of Electro on screen.

You do it right and you have;
drama
conflict
scheming
power struggles

Play it straight, don't play it for laughs like they did in Guardians.
Basically, make Usual Suspects with super villains.

Chameleon is my Mysterio stand in. I want Mysterio to be a solo villain.

How do you make Chameleon threatening though?

He isn't threatening, he is manipulative. And against Spider-Man himself he can turn the public against him.
Mysterio is obviously a better character but as I said, I would save him for another time.

I like that idea, if there's any unused villain that should close out the series, it's Mysterio. His abilities are boundless and frightening. That being said, it seems more likely that Sony will stick him in S6 rather than save him for TASM3.

A this moment in time I am less concerned with their powers and more concerned with their personalities. Characters that bring nothing to the table in that regard should be avoided; Lizard, Rhino.
Basically you want strong characters and then fling them together and the drama will take care of itself.

It's not that Lizard had no personality, he was just a run of the mill mad scientist with shreds of sympathy. Ifans did a reasonable job with it, it just felt rushed when crammed in with the parents/origin story. As for Rhino, he had no chance to establish a personality, maybe giving him an expanded role in S6 will take care of that. Giamatti is no dummy, he's skilled enough of an actor to make it work.

Giamatti is a good actor but he established himself as an idiot and it's not worth the time to retcon his personality. Lizard would be too reluctant to make it work and the Lizard too destructive when he finally changes.
Off to bed. Catch up in the morning :)

Rhino's always been an idiot though lol. Goodnight :yay:

What if the whole time we find out that five members of the team were just Mysterio's holograms?

The sad thing is I love The Sinister Six, but seeing how the Webbverse has handled the villains, I really can't give much effort in caring...:csad:

Wasn't shocker in their viral marketing? In a Daily Bugle article?

And seeing joker again after all these weeks makes me want to shower -_-

Reported. That was uncalled for. You'll soon be back on another few weeks vacation, or with any luck a permanent one.

EDIT: Thanks moderators.

Well, that was an interesting turn of events.

I was expecting something bigger when it finally happened.

Anyway, Sinister Six - I'm 50/50
