The Force Awakens Are You Ready For J.J. Abrams To Ask Leonard Nimoy (Spock) To Be In Episode VII?

yeahhh nooooo.

I don't want my Star Wars to be polluted by Treekies please.

It is not as if it would be Spock in Episode VII...

It would be Nimoy playing a Star Wars role. I have no problem with it.

So long as he didnt have a bowl cut and pointy ears i'm good with it. Also he shouldn't be more than a secondary character.

I like Nimoy, and I like Trek, but no... hell no!

Cumberbatch is the only I want him to bring over from his Star Trek films. And maybe Simnon Pegg voicing a robot.

I don't see a problem with it. The man's an actor, if there's a good role for him, cool.

Fascinating.:woot:

I probably wouldn't have a problem with it,but it depends what they do.Nimoy isn't the type to go along with it if it were going to be cheesy in any way.

'm gonna say no to this. Have no problem with him or Star Trek. It just doesn't feel right.

lol oh territorial nerds... :funny:

Having said that, putting him in VII seems like something designed for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of the territorial nerds, so maybe it'd be best to not. :o

Artoo Detoo was Star Trek 2009, so turnabout is fair playl.

I have no problem with him being in the film; Abrams will make sure that the role has is removed from Spock. Fine actors have pulled off multi-franchise contributions successfully, such as Ian McKellan, which makes the concern over his interest in the production primarily a manifestation of the fan-politics, and not an objective assessment of talent.

I feel like Nimoy would be an awesome Sith. And Cumberbatch could be his apprentice for all I care. They're both fantastic actors.

I'm surprisingly ok with this idea. I like Nimoy, and he's a great actor. Honestly, given his age, I don't imagine he'd be doing too much, similar to Christopher Lee and the large use of stunt doubles in his performance. If Abrams wants him in, I'm ok with that.

I think Nimoy would be great as a Jedi.I'm sure he could spout some great lines about the Force to a group of learning Padawans. But beyond that,I don't think he'd have a whole lot to do.

Remember,we still have the whole original cast, plus the "Next Generation" to deal with in the movie.I doubt Nimoy would get a very large role in such a busy film.

Agreed---he did not have a large role in either of the rebooted Trek films, either.

I couldn't see it working, to be honest. Yeah sure he's a fine actor. But he is synonymous with Trek. I mean, why not go the full hog and have Shatner in VII if that's the case. I very much doubt the people in charge of casting took that invitation seriously. And Nimoy probably didnt expect them to.

No one would want to put up with him, as he would force the studio to make the film about his character (he has a history of this: for example, read "The City on the Edge of Forever" text by Harlan Ellison.)

It's such a happy place, when you're a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek. I've lived there since I was a kid. It's never made sense why some need to think we all have to fight over them.

As for Nimoy in Star Wars? Oh hell yeah, I'd love it.
