And he should be the main villain of this movie series, even if he isn't the primary villain in the first movie

We should be getting villain casting news shortly, considering the Steve Trevor announcement. I'm hoping we get Cheetah as a secondary villain in this movie, before returning as a member of the Legion of Doom in a Justice League film. Ideally, Ares would be the primary villain in this movie.

will they go with the classic Ares suit or the New 52 look? Or a combo of both?

Who should play him? Viggo Mortensen would be ideal. But i also like the idea of Javier Bardem or Daniel Craig as Ares.

As I already said, Viggo Mortensen needs to be cast in DCEU, I don't care for which role. Same goes for Sean Harris. As for Javier Bardem, I'd rather have him as Darkseid, as there's plenty of actors that could play Ares, but not many that would pull Darkseid well.

I think he should be old, but wearing armor, which hides that. But on a crucial moment he would be revealed to be an old senile man. If they do go that route, it should be an actor that doesn't care too much about face exposition.

But I'd prefer a more toned down armor, I always thought his armor was over the top, specially the Injustice version.

I think either version of Ares/War could work. If they went for New 52 Ares he could be played by either Bill Nighy or John Hurt or if they go the classic route then probably Daniel Craig.

-Ares should NOT be the main villain in this film. He should be a presence, but you don't blow your biggest baddie right away.

Autumn/Fall officially starts September 22nd or 23rd and ends on December 21st or 22nd so techinally if Wonder Woman started filming at the beginning of December, it would still be classed as Autumn.

I would guess the announcements casting wise will start from mid to late September onwards.

Yeah, I like this look. It's not very Grecian, but then again, just because gods were depicted as being dressed in Grecian outfits by the people who actually wore them, it doesn't have to mean that they really did so.

As a matter of fact, I like both looks, this one and New 52 one. Though the latter would work better if he were to be like the New 52 version, a bitter, tired god of war at its end.

Personally I'd love to see Giganta in a Wonder Woman movie - fighting Diana on the snowy peeks of the Himalayas! Now there's an underused superhero fight location. Bring on the avalanches!

Yeah he does have a Sauron look too but with the helmet blacking out his whole face except for his eyes, he makes me think of Marvin.

I'm guessing (hoping) Danny Huston is playing Ares. What do you guys think, if that's the case? Seems perfect to me.

I feel a little bad for Huston though. In the press release, the only movies they listed for him were Clash of the Titans and Wolverine, lol.

Ares can't be old and senile. He's supposed to be godly.
