Watching the episode now on my DVR.

Oh wonderful more non sense with Felicity and her annoying mother. This scene, ugh.

This episode sounds absolutely terrible.

Way, way, way too much Smoak family drama this episode, the entire subplot could've been done in five minutes but they dragged it out through the entire episode and almost made the Genesis bunker feel like the B-plot.

Like mother, like daughter.

So, should I watch the episode or just punch myself in the testicles?

You could fast forward past any scene with Felicity or her mother in it, because pretty much nothing important happens in those scenes.

It is funny, I am not entirely sure what to make of this episode. The Felicity stuff was boring and cringe-inducing like it normally is, but pretty much everything else was good (apart from the island stuff, but those scenes were very short). The problem is, the Felicity stuff dragged on too long at times. If I had to judge the episode overall, I would say that it was ok, but closer to good than bad. If I ignore the Felicity stuff, then I would say that it was a good episode (but not as good an episode as it should have been, as this is the 2nd last episode of the season after all).

It is sad, as I know they are still capable of putting out good-great episodes, but they keep focusing on Felicity which drags the episodes down and wastes valuable screen-time that could have been spent on other good stuff. I would advise anyone who has not watched this episode but is planning to, to skip the Felicity stuff apart from the scene that she is in at the end of the episode. You will enjoy it more then.

The whole thing with city hall now falls flat on its face doesn't it? Dark destroyed city hall, and yet he wants to nuke the city expecting to get stronger, so he really does not need city hall after all... The whole mayor thing was useless.

Also, it was pathetic when they attributed that Dark's underground city went unnoticed because "he had connections in the mayor's office" really? He built that city within what? a few months?

I felt generous and gave it a 7 though, it was entertaining... And better than most eps in the season

Lol I laugh every time I see how these threads get less and less comments after an episode premier. But this episode was cool except for Anarky. Hate what they did with him. And I really hate how he's giving Green Arrow some go in combat. Has anyone else noticed Ollie's been getting his ass kicked all season? By everyone?

Didn't hate the Felicity scenes but I didn't care for them. Especially Donna. She's really worried about the wrong stuff at the wrong times. The flashback scenes were okay but the more I watch them the more I get mad that Ollie kept the fact that he's dealt with this exact same stuff before from the team for so long. It really makes absolutely no sense why he wouldn't talk about it. And did the writers forget that Amanda Waller dumped Oliver on the island? They haven't brought that up at all and he's struggling to find a way off. Why not get in contact with ARGUS?

Anyway, the action in here was great. I loved the shootout through the neighborhood and Green Arrow and Diggle running around. I think this might be the first time we've seen Green Arrow in sunlight?

I think this episode was slightly influenced by Green Arrow: City Walls, which had Green Arrow up against a magically empowered villain in a sealed city. Also, like in Darhk's sealed Hive, they were very strict about rules being broken in the sealed city. Anyone that broke rules was killed.

Oliver doubting himself, questioning whether he is really doing any good as a vigilante and if he is actually helping people is something that came up a lot in Dennis O'Neil and Elliot S Maggin's Green Arrow stories.

So, my two comments:

1. I guess the list for Star City is now "earthquake", "rampaging army of superhumans", "plague", and now "giant sinkhole".

2. Am I the only one who wanted Damien Darkh to show up and vaporize Anarky?

Oh sweet turkey bacon, what has this show come to? Oliver fights Thea? Pfft, I just want more Felicity-centric drama! This time, Donna faces off against Noah!

I am so relieved I don't feel any desire to watch the rest of this season.

The underground ark had been built up all season then suddenly taken out by 1 explosion essentially. It appears the HIVE engineers do not have a good grasp of redundancy and fail-safes.

Anarky, I didn't really like him in his previous appearances but I kind of liked him here. Especially the line about looking like a reasonably person.

The chase through the suburb was the best scene I think. Their was one particular move with Green Arrow flipping round to fire behind him that I really enjoyed.

The whole hacking scene irked me, as most displays of hacking in TV land. The Donna/Noah stuff was just meh. I guess it shows parallels with Felicity/Oliver but I didn't think it was needed. Curtis on the other hand is quite good in just about every scene I can remember him in.

Okay, the GA/Spartan parts of this episode were terrific. The Smoak drama, not so much. If this entire episode had been the Genesis plot rather than Noah and Donna's love life it would've been one of the best of the season IMO (technically it still is). I'm glad they dealt with Ruve and Genesis but I'm annoyed Anarky got away. Looking forward to the finale.

At least we know where Felicity gets her annoying, whiny tendencies from. Genetics.

It wasn't the worst episode this season. It was tolerable. The Smoak family drama was minimal enough where I was able to cry my way through it.

Agreed.

I like Anarky. Hope he doesn't get killed so he can pop up from time to time.

I liked the fights in the fake city. The bright sunlight made for a nice change of pace. I hated the hacking fight. Forget about being unrealistic, it just made no sense. The Star Trek VI references redeemed it slightly, but only because they were so corny I had to laugh.

I don't know. The episode was slightly all over the place. The Smoak family drama took a lot of screen time and just dragged the episode which was shaping up rather well with some great stuntwork. I didn't like the ending either- why destroy the ?dome-city? So that Dahrk goes full-on evil? I thought we achieved that with the relic magic thingy at the end of Monument Point?

Anarky should not be able to fight Oliver, Diggle, and Thea all at the same time and do well.

Well, he does have a very unique weapon to help with that. But for whatever reason, apparently the writers decided to make Anarky up there with Ra's, Slade, and Merlyn as the only non-powered villains (stretching it with Slade, but okay) to be able to take on more than one member of TA at once.

Which is another reason I want him dead. Because it really stretches plausibility here, given the kid has been given *no* explanation for how the hell he's so skilled. It'd be much better if he were merely "ordinarily" skillful at combat, and had his schtick just be the "improbable evil chaotic plans" end of things. If you catch him, any of the serious hitters of Team Arrow could take him out solo in a fair fight. . . but he always has either a serious cheat, or some kind of distracting hostage situation ready.
