Best I can figure, it follows like this: sex (typically) makes one happy, thus gay communities probably have lots of sex. The more sex, the higher the spread of sexually transmuted disagreements.

This is a common misconception. It's not actually that women prefer jerks over nice guys; it's that they prefer strong guys over weak guys. A jerk who treats a woman like **** indicates that he doesn't need her, that he's his own man who does his own thing, and that makes him more attractive to her (don't forget people always want what they can't have). By contrast, a "nice guy" who is constantly supplicating to her and always doing favours for her, etc., shows that he can be pushed around, he doesn't have a life of his own, and that dependency makes him appear weak, which is a turn-off for her.

Why are people so reluctant to criticize capitalism - even though it's failed for the vast majority of the planet's population - and yet so quick to condemn socialism?

I think its kind of a two part answer, but both parts have the same underlying idea.
Greed. Capitalism comes with the dream of wealth. The idea that you can rise above others grab all that you can. Also Capitalism is so woven into the fabric of what it means to be an american that anything else seems foreign and wrong.

Why does it seem like Christians are so resistant to the idea of live and let live.

There are those, (Who others of us frown upon) who do exactly what you describe, they'll just shove things in your face and what not, where in reality, at least mine, we're taught to speak about our religion "gently" and if someone doesn't accept it, alright, it's their choice.

I fell asleep on a plane once. We were over chicago when I fell asleep and over nevada when I woke up. Not really as exciting as sleepwalking to another location or anything.
