Yup, think it's fairly safe to say that pete's switching sides this issue. At ****ing last

I wonder what Peter sees that makes him react like that?

very cool...i look forward to reading that....spidey i bet will be instrumental in the take down of tony crap head stark..

This is totally awsome, thanks. Ive needed to see something like this for quite a while. I hope to god this is the issue where Peter tells Tony to sod off.

I would think they'd save Peter switching sides for the main CW title. Still...that certainly looks like the best opening pages to an issue of ASM I've seen in a while.

Sweet Better is coming over the the anti-regs!!! PS with Annihilation going on isn't there lots of fighting in the negative zone? Shouldn't it look scarier. ooo ooo I know I bet something is going to come out of that portal which will threaten the earth and the anti-regs will stop it... and somehow Tony will be wounded really really bad in the process.

Well, from what I see Tony notice that Peter have a different behaviour: maybe because there is something that he didn't want Peter to see/know, and maybe this thing is so bad that can make Peter switch side... so finally we have Spiderman back!

Oh dear god this looks awesome...I mean I'm sure they'll save Peter's officially switching sides for Civil War #5 but this is clearly the moment when we can see him making that decision. Kick Tony's ass Pete!

Actually I think he'll make it in this issue and you'll see him announce it stark in the next issue of civil war, possibly sit down with may and MJ in this issue thrash it out and on the last page we'll just see "tony, can I have a word..." :word:

not sure about that last panel on the first page though, pete looks like he's had an extra arse grafted onto his chin :csad:

For that crack of being "something of a scientist", Reed just jumped ahead of Tony of people I want to see Pete tee off on. And I hope he does it with a device he creates. C'mon JMS, get that Bunsen burner out!

How good would it be if they did that?!? Oh happy day! :woot: For the fans I mean who are glad to see Petey being himself once more and doing the right thing. It's going to be dreadfully painful for Pete, though because it will mean he has to leave MJ and Aunt May behind for the time being, (and probably won't be able to make contact with them in the future for their own good,) not to mention Peter being of such loyal disposition will probably feel genuinely guilty about turning his back on Tony...and actually I kind of feel sorry for Tony too, since as big a jerk as he's been I honestly believe he really did like Peter and saw him as his natural heir, and it will be very painful for him to lose Pete's friendship even though, Tony has no one to blame but himself.

To be perfectly fair to Reed, Peter isn't exactly a practicing scientist the way he and Tony are, (though he was until recently a darned good science teacher-and that was actually a career change on Peter's part that I liked-seeing him doing something he clearly loved and plus it brought the high school angle in it again,) and of course to Reed Richards almost any other scientist is amateur status. I'm sure he didn't mean for it though, to come across as snobby.

Hey, it's fiction, I don't need to be fair! :D No, I think it is their intention for Reed and Tony to come off as a little arrogant and snobby.

Actually, I hope he doesn't go to the Anti-Regs.

Not that I like him on the side he's on right now, but I think it would be even better for him to realize that this whole thing is going to destroy everything he holds dear, so he doesn't take a side and takes on all comers to try and defuse the war.

He'll probably do it in the actual CW title, but I hope his last words in it will be, essentially, "F**k all of you, I'm going to side with the one I've been on for all of my career...my own." :spidey:

That might very well be the most prudent course of action here but I just can't see Peter standing by the sidelines if he really begins to think the Pro-reg camp is in the wrong. Moreover the way things have escalated, I'm not sure it's even going to be possible for a figure as well known as Spiderman to play the role of Switzerland in all this.

Let's see, Peter has crow's lines. And oh yeah, his hair continues to lighten in color one minute then darken the next (see colorist!) By next ish he'll be platinum blonde...

But he's showing a bit of a nasty streak here. I kinda dig it, it may be the spider. And wasn't it weird how Tony seemed hesitant for pete to see the facility? Yet reed had no problem with it. I DO sense a disconnect somewhere...very suspicious.

Those look like floating caskets!

You're right about the hair color...I personally like him better with the darker hair myself. The crow's lines aren't so bad though, since he is about thirty, (and has had the kind of life that ages you quickly plus I think the lines are a little sexy,) and personally I like skinny men better myself. It was always part of Puny Peter's charm to me!

I'm glad that Civil War was able to get Amazing Spider-Man out of the stale funk it was in recently. I'm glad to see that Reed looks upset that his wife left him (5 o'clock shadow, the big frown when Sue is mentioned)

Yeah, I remember people complaining how Reed at the end of Civil War #4 showed no reaction to Sue walking out...at least this explains it somewhat as him distancing himself from the truth. And it is interesting that Tony was worried about Peter seeing the prison but not Reed; possibly because Tony was better at anticipating his protege's reaction or because there are aspects to the prison that not even Reed is fully aware of...

TWO FREAKING DAYS!!!

ARRGGHH!!!
