The Amazing Spider-Man ASM Blu-ray: Most Wanted Features and Extras - Part 1

So one extra thing isn't needed when everything else is hinted or mentioned or shown?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel his need for corrective lenses or lack thereof is a sorely missed portion of the film.

1. Well I mean it was obvious in the movie that it's something that warns him of danger around him.

2. Probably not. Considering it's used in aircrafts. Although Peter might have done something to it so it dissolves, y'know, so people don't realise it's from Oscorp or something.

3. I posted a reply to this already, lol.

4. Probably just how a real spider sticks to surfaces. Because it's in a human and not a spider, it's probably strong enough to work through less than an inch of rubber. But it's probably weaker in his feet if he's wearing shoes.

5. Well, the hints are in the movie. He's looking at Luge suits online. The shoes are... well, from shoes. The lenses are from sunglasses.

He might have ordered 2 suits like this or something:

Then he could have cut them up into the base red and blue suit before adding the fine details with the silk screen press.

Peter also has a 3D printer in his room, so he could have knocked out the frames for his lenses using that.

And yes it is stretching out the origin for longer than needed, we don't really need to know any of these in extreme detail. It would have been cool to linger on some of these (like the suit) for longer than they did though.

I'm pretty well verse in the powers of Spider-Man having read the Marvel official handbook but I wanted to be SHOWN the answers to my question rather than draw on prior knowledge from other sources.

Then it's just stretching the origin for longer than needed. Spend more time on the powers and you're taking away from other parts of the movie which actually need more time.

I thought ASM dipped in quality when it moved beyond the origin so they could have spent the whole movie on the origin and it wouldn't have bothered. Yes, I realise that's a selfish point of view but I'm a selfish person :woot:

So you feel like TASM dipped in quality once it moved past the origin, but still wanted them to spend time on the origin?

Alrighty then. :funny:

Beginning of the movie - Origin
Beyond the origin - Lizard plotline
When it moved into the Lizard plotline i.e. moved beyond the origin (for me) the quality dipped.

^ Agreed.

In fact, I felt once Peter put on the entire suit, the quality of TAS-M dropped. And then The Lizard...

Just like Batman Begins... and Iron Man... and Captain America...

I felt Begins got weaker once Ghul's plan started coming into play.

Add X-Men Origins: Wolverine to that list, definitely falls after the Weapon X experiment.

Just like Batman Begins...

While the film seemed to be in a rush as soon as Bruce becomes Batman, it did not drop in quality at all.

and Iron Man...

Sorta. While Stane/Iron Monger is ten times better than Dr. Connors/Lizard if comparing the two villains portrayed in the respective films, Iron Man DID lose some "umph" in the third act once things started to roll with Stane donning the Iron Monger suit.

and Captain America...

It only dropped during that quick montage which could've lasted much longer, but I found Red Skull to be a great villain.

Add X-Men Origins: Wolverine to that list, definitely falls after the Weapon X experiment.

Add X-Men Origins: Wolverine to the list of being crap from beginning to end.

I think Captain America: The First Avenger did the worst job of going downhill after his origin was told. That montage sequence still bugs me.

IDK if the quality dropped, but I definitely lost some interest after he became Batman.

Capt yes, Ironman maybe but Batman Begins not really imho

Absolutely Batman Begins. when the movie (BB) moves into the 3rd act i.e. beyond the origin of Batman, I was checked out of the movie. Completely bored.

Batman Begins
Iron Man
Captain America
ASM

significantly drop in quality when the origin has been told, which is odd because you'd think that when the character is finally in costume the movie would go to another level. For me the only Superhero origin movies that improve AFTER the origin has been told is Spider-Man (brilliant climax) and Superman the movie (because the origin is boring).

Yeah, SM1 actually stayed at the same level, if not, got better after the origins. I haven't seen Superman yet.

Do it. A truly epic movie but has a slow burn to begin with and you'll laugh at the deus ex machina at the end but definately one of the best superhero movies ever.

I think I'd have it as...if we're going by the origin that dropped in quality the most to the origin film that dropped in quality the least.

Ghost Rider
Green Lantern
Fantastic Four
The Amazing Spider-Man
Daredevil
X-Men
Captain America: The First Avenger
Blade
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Hellboy
The Punisher
Iron Man
Superman: The Movie
Watchmen
The Crow
Spider-Man
Batman Begins

I haven't seen Superman yet.

I think it's harsh to say Spider-man drops in quality after the origin.
After Pete gets his powers the movie moves into the 3rd act where Goblin discovers that Pete is Spider-Man, Attacks Aunt May and kidnapps MJ, gives Spider-Man the choice of saying the kids or MJ and then climaxs with one of if not THE most brutal superhero fights in comic book movie history.
Come on, no way does the quality dip after the origin in Spider-Man.

to the origin film that dropped in quality the least.

The only reason Batman Begins is at the last spot and not Spider-Man because I feel BB is at the same spot, only just a rushed feeling, but in no way does it feel like it drops in quality, the same as Spider-Man.

opps! thought you were listing movies that dropped in quality rather than giving a worst to best list.
The reason I felt Batman Begins drops in quality is because I wasn't engaged by Scarecrow (and he gets taken out by a simple taser) I wasn't engaged by Ras as an antagonist (where as I was engaged with Ras as a mentor) and I was bored by the train chase, utterly bored. I was loving acts 1 and 2 where bruce is learning to be Batman, checked out when Ras returns and only became engaged again with the Joker card at the end. Just my opinion but the 3rd act of BB bored the **** out of me.
