I have never ever played AC before - I got a Ps4 though and I'm bored to hell with Infamous & Ghosts. Would Black Flag be a good entry level AC to play?

Yes. It's a great entry point to the series.

I'd go as far to say it may be the best entry point in the series. :p

It's sure my favorite in the franchise!

I do dislike the modern-parts of these games. Takes me out of it.

Only reason I haven't picked this one up.

I'm about half way through with it on PS4, most of my time has been spent hacking in Watch_Dogs. Def a good jumping in point for the series though. I hadn't played and AC game after the first 2 so I just went on YouTube and watched the start/ending for each game that I missed.

I bought it used so I won't get the exclusive Ps4 content or the online play

I love AC4, but here's the weird part: I don't really consider it an Assassin's Creed game.

AC1, AC2, ACBrotherhood, ACRevelations (the Altair/Ezio series) forms the core of the Creed. AC3 kind of distanced itself from the mythology, but only slightly; but AC4 pretty much stands alone outside that mythos.

My suggestion would be to get AC2 *and* AC4: AC4 will give you a great pirate game, with little to no insight into Assassin's Creed itself. But AC2 is the jewel in the crown of the AC series, and the one that will immerse you the most into understanding what the age-old war between Assassins and Templars is all about.

If you don't care about the story involving the Assassins at all, then why not? It isn't that bad.

I don't know nothing about AC, man. AC4 was the first one I played and I couldn't really get into it. Dunno if I'll ever try the series again.

It's because there's barely a story there.

If you want to give it another chance, try to get AC2 because it has the better story from all the games. My favorite one is AC3 though.

I felt the same way playing AC3. First Assassin's game for me and I had no idea what was going on and was just disappointed.

Try Assassin's Creed 2. I did and it is just amazing. Beautiful setting in Renaissance Italy, great open world game, good story (minus 1 or 2 things I didn't like), unforgettable final boss (you will see why, trust me it's one to remember), and Ezio is just the man.

my bad, it's just that I would have to dig my way back to find it
it's all good just ask the mods to please nicely have it merged with the one Havok showed you later. This way we can avoid another thread of your being closed.
