At this point, could Batman even have a role in the SV verse?

no...this is NOT a thread asking for Batman. i, and everyone else knows that he will not be in the series.

Clark will run into Batman when this show is over...but with GA taking on many of Batman's aspects, what kind of Batman could eventually exist in the SV verse?

Maybe they could just say that, up until the point Clark meets him, that he was viewed as an urban legend. And as far as GA having a lot of Batman's aspects is concerned, isn't that the way he was in the early comics? Sortof a knockoff of Batman?

Did any of you ever read that Superman one shot book called Superman the Odyssey? It's kind of a "Smallville" type story where it's before he becomes Superman. He's traveling the world and he meets this Asian girl and goes to visit her home in some Buddhist monastery type place. As he and the girl are going up the stairs, they pass a man coming down, and Clark comments about the cold stare the guy just gave him and as they pass, there is an over head shot of them then they show the guy's shadow and it's got Batman's pointy ears. They could maybe do some kind of vague reference like that. Or have they already. Remember in season 2 or 3 this new guy shows up and starts hitting on Lana and he wears this shirt with number 27 on it and his name is "Adam Knight".

While I understand Warner does not want Bats or Bruce to appear. But, why not allow them to make subtle mentions of him? For example Lois can be talking to Clark about some masked vigilante in Gotham....or have Chloe ask Ollie about the masked vigilante in Gotham and he responds that he is not really a team player or that he can't find him. Throw us a bone!

yea hard to say what they could/would do with bruce-batman if he was on the show. I agree and i said this many times before since we cant see bruce/bats it would be nice if we got mentions of wayne industries or the urban legand of a bat-man running a round gotham. We have had gotham and knightwing's cities mentioned in the past. I dont see why we could have never had a mention in the planet about wayne industries or had scenes with lionel or lex mentioning loosing a deal to wayne or something.

yeah from what i remember, they wanted Bat's in a prominant role in Season 3, but since of the restriction they gave a Bats-esque role to Adam Knight just with a little twist that he needed Clark's platelets to survive lol

and just to comment on the episode in S6 "Reunion", was it just me or did anyone think that the guy who was about to be blown-up in the limo was Bruce? i thought subconsciously that it was him b/c he mentioned Gotham haha

I could have sworn that in the Linda Lake character's first appearance she mentions being able to see Gotham from her super high rise apartment/office/something...

There has to be some way of having Batman in SV without having him. Like would it hurt anything if Clark gets a tips to a store/problem in the form of a package from Wayne Enterprises. I just don't see how this could conflict with anything. Lets face it this is a version of the DC universe.

We'll neer see him so it won't matter.Batman could never exist in the smallville universe and it wouldn't matter one bit.

Lets also not forget about that great and wonderful episode Thirst :whatever: Remember Clark dresses like Zorro (One of Batman's insperations) escapes out a window (like Batman) and after he jumps out the camera slowly focuses on a bat decorations.

Maybe they could handle it, with out even mentioning anything about him, or Wayne Industries. Chloe could be talking to Oliver and Clark at the Watchtower and suddenly a break in or something comes over the Watchtower's network.
Chloe: "Seems like something is happening in Gotham! Clark you can get there faster and ..."
Oliver: "there is no need to go, the situation is under control." :brucebat:
Chloe: "How?"
Oliver: "Lets just say I know someone in that city who wont let anything happen to his city."
Chloe: "Really should we extend an invite to join our little group then?"
Oliver: "No, see he isn't a team player, and not only that he is one scary person."

It's just an idea, that way you don't cross any lines about mentioning Wayne or hinting at the name Batman

^^ Something like that could actually work, and it would be enough. For me anyway.

I like that idea. add a bat flash while when Oliver says team player and that's the perfect thing. i want Oliver tells Clark that he is one of the four honary members. Clark asks "three?" Oliver turns around and says you, the Martian detective, a space cop in Coast City, a loner in Gotham and this amazon chick. :cwink:
...mabye it wouldn't work but that's all I could think of in short notice

batman will probably never appear. green arrow basically takes the place of batman on the show. i think adam knight might have been the closest we got to batman.

what if green arrow runs out the door then a black gloved fist punches him in the face. then we hear a deep growl(that's sound similar to Christian Bale's Batman voice" that says "except no
substitutions ."

I just thought of a funny scene that would be cool to have. Imagine Batman is in an alley somewhere fighting a couple of thugs, and it looks as though he is outnumbered. And all of a sudden Green Arrow flies in and takes out a couple of thugs. Meanwhile Batman is watching him and sees that he uses similar weapons and gadgets as Batman himself does. And after the fight Batman just stares at Green Arrow and says "Who the h*ll are you suppossed to be?!" thinking he's just some copycat. And then there's some akward silence :oldrazz:
Okey forgive me if that didn't sound so funny, but it did so in my head :woot:

A mention of Gotham City was good enough for me (which they did back in season 6). I don't need them to say "don't worry, I have a man working on the job in Gotham". That's not subtle at all. A mention of the city here or there is all I need.

yea gotham getting mentioned in the past is probably the closest we will ever get of batsy in the show. I as i said before still wished they made some mention of wayne or wayne industries in DP headlines or by the luthors saying to someone they lost a deal on something because wayne got to them before they did. Would still work with not having to see bruce.

Just thought of something, I wonder if it was the Joker and his goons that were robbing the bank in Metropolis in the season 3 premier :woot:

I don't see how Oliver's place negates Bruce's at all.

The green arrow has always been sort of a sudo batman since day one and yet they have both been able to coexist in the DCU. There is no reason why this version of Oliver and Bruce can not co-exist as well.

no it was joker or his goons, it was criminals who worked for morgan edge.

the smallville writers said that DC said that Batman and Wonder woman were off limits for smallville.

Yes I know. I was just joking since they were all wearing clown masks :cwink:

BTW, who says that the Joker can't have been working for Morgan Edge sometime in his life? I'm just saying that in theory he could have been one of them ;)

If you read some of the early Green Arrow comics and compare them to the original Batman writings, they were practically the same person. Green Arrow had all the stuff Batman did, playboy millionair but also a hero, gadgets, ward/sidekick, and heck, he even had an arrow mobile.

What I'm trying to say, is that even with Green Arrow, yes, Batman would still have a place in the Smallvilleverse.

its to bad we will never see bats or ww team up with clark. at less ww should be used cause it looks like her solo film is still stuck like it has been for years in developmental hell. So since she is currently not being used full time in any other mediums smallville producers should have a crack at her. At less having 2/3rds of the trinity would be nice.
