i've been thinking recently...

i'm currently 18, 19 in about a month and apparently i should be growing up by now...but i'm not and i don't really wanna grow up...then i was thinking maybe i'll grow up when i'm 20, but the thought of being 20 frightens the hell outta me!

so when should you grow up and start acting mature and responcible:huh:

It depends on your and your life.

Some teenagers/children have to grow up quicker than others.

But I assume by the time you are 20 you are more responsible than a 17 year old. It doesnt mean you cant have fun but just more mature.

You should be able to have fun and still act responsible when the situation calls for. You can't do too much of either. You can do your wacky **** on the weekends and have a ball, but you have to know when to hang it up and take charge as well.

You know it's not a certain age, and you're like wow, I'm all grown up. It's kind of a gradual change. Lastly just because you have to take on more responsbility doesn't mean that your life is over.

I think I matured very fast.
I never really was that crazy kid that went out amd did bad things/rebel, etc.
I never had the luxury of living that kind of life when I was a kid.

Like Electrix said, it depends on you and your life.

Though some of those that grow up too fast when young tend to act the dumbest when adults.

Just something I know first hand. most males never really grow up. I am soon to be 37 and still like all the same stuff I did when I was 7. Men will always have a bit of their boyhood left in them till the day they die. Our toys just get bigger.

i feel exactly the same. I'm moving away from home next month and i'm freaked out!:csad:

LOL, not you per se. I mean those that had to deal with a lot of stuff when young or were extremely studious, some of them tend to go nuts when they hit adulthood with the crazy behavior.

I'm going to be 100% honest here.
Getting older, I see my life becoming like this guy. :o :csad:

What do you mean by growing up?

I think as long as you take care of important things like working and paying bills you're fine, you don't need to let go of the fun things in life just because you reach a certain age.

i imagine growing up as becoming more adult and more responcible....and i very rarely see many adults i know having fun:csad:

I think you have to be able to spell responsible, in order to be responsible. :o

Well, if you got a demanding job and a wife and kids, yeah, the constant week of partying can be reduced. But that's just how life is.

but i still have no idea what the hell i wanna do with my life. surely i should have atleast some idea by now:huh:

Life sucks, and then you die. :down

Well, having turned 22 yesterday, I can understand being freaked out about leaving behind the carelessness of childhood for the responsibility of adulthood. However, I can't wait to move onto the good stuff in life (career, wife, home, etc). My friends who all joined a fraternity think I'm wasting away my final days in college, but they don't realize that I'm happy living like I'm married. Growing up really depends on whether or not you're ready, and what really matters to me. I honestly didn't get over some of my childish ways until I fell in love, and became determined to graduate and become responsible for certain things.

Lord Valuemart, my advice is be serious about things which will put you in a position to succeed. Have all the fun you want, just don't jeopardize things like your career and education.

I know guys right now that are 30-something still acting like they did in school. Basically get drunk every night, trolling the night scene. They claim it's the best because they never have to worry about dealing with stuff, but at some point that gets old, no matter how much of a party animal you claim to be.

When you ignore your first medical bill because you have to eat, you'll know you're an adult.
