Atlas Shrugged

Is this book worth the time?

I'm not going to be a whole lot of help here, but...

While I haven't read Atlas Shrugged itself, I've read Rand's The Fountainhead. I had trouble with it, but it was before I was in highscool. I need to re-read it and have been meaning to read Atlas Shrugged as well. From what I remember, the writing itself was very good, but it was the philosophies that I had trouble with. I don't think I would nowadays. Its thick reading but my best guess is worth it.

Ayn Rand hates black people.
Sorry, hang over from the Bush-Kanye video

I wonder how long it'd take me to read it...

Personally, I prefer Atlas Farted.

I find Ayn Rand's writing bland. I haven't read Atlas Shrugged but I've read Anthem and very little of Fountain Head. It takes alot to get into her books.

Just started it, and if you do read it, I warn you, it's a huge book--over a 1000 pages with small font.

But so far it's pretty interesting. Some of her philosophies I'm still coming to terms with, but Rand definately had talent as a writer.

Hm, perhaps I'll check it out. I love dense, non-fiction.

But there's pretty people, and explosions!

That could possibly be up to 3 hours of her life she can never get back

More, most likely--from what I hear, they plan to split it up into different movies so that they can keep as much of the story as possible.

Well, first of all I'd like to thank the town of South Park, the town that borne me, and eventually will rob me of my life precious.

Second, I'd like to say to all those out there who think they can screw chickens just to teach people to read: your days are numbered! And finally, I'd like to say that reading totally sucks ass!

Yes, at first I was happy to be learning how to read. It seemed exciting and magical. But then I read this: "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand. I read every last word of this garbage, and because of this piece of **** I'm never reading again!

That's gonna suck  Why can't people just go to sparknotes and read the summaries? :(

not very good. I don't find Objectivism a very good philosophy. Try Nhilism.
