Autistic 6th-grader suffers videotaped beating at bus stop in Cecil County Maryland

This pisses me off, and I keep my cool pretty well most of the time.

I work with people who have disabilities, they are vulnerable people.

Picking on the vulnerable is primitive predatory behavior, in short it is sub-human.
Part of what makes us human is our empathy.

There is nothing like someone picking on those weaker than themselves to make my blood boil.

This is sad. But unfortunatly this sort of thing has happened for years and will continue to happen. Kids get into fights, I've been in A LOT! But I never fought or bullied a special needs kid. That's low!

But that's the thing, Kaleb didn't get into a fight. He was simply attacked for no reason.

Poor kid. Theres a lot of sick people in this country right now, it's gotten ridiculous.

I understand people, especially kids get bullied all the time, but to do it to a person who has a disability is just wrong & despicable.

Bullying happens all the time but bullying special needs kids is seriously low.

Its Cowardly a bunch of punks on one kid. Most those kids wouldn't have the stones to say anything or hit anyone if they didn't have their friends to back them up and knew they could the kid they were picking on could hit back

That's because bullies are cowards. They are one of the lowest forms of life.

Pretty sad that this happened. Looks like he's fairly high functioning though. 2nd degree assault charges and punishment from the school system don't seem like it will stop this from happening again.

I wonder why the father of the kid who was hit is relying on the school system? I think I'd have to go over to that kid's house and have a few words with his father.

There were a couple of kids with asperger syndrome that went to my elementary school. They were picked on all the time.

I hate the thought of my daughter growing up in a world where kids are bullying other kids with special needs. But that's just the world we live in. I was picked on in school for a while, till I was so fed up, I beat the mess out of one of the bullies.. But in this case retaliation isn't really an option... This just PISSES ME OFF!

Sometimes I think that "eye for an eye" is perfectly justifiable.

2nd degree probably doesn't carry with it a stint in Juvy which is sad because that's where the puncher belongs to be. That way he'll be able to see what it's like to be on the other side of bullying. I can't believe these kids are stupid enough to put the attacks on Facebook or Youtube. There was a story in Chicago earlier this week about a group of 6 or 7 teenagers beating up someone, they taped it and put it on Youtube. Most were wearing ski masks so you couldn't see their face, but one wasn't so I'm sure he was easy to track down. He probably ratted all the others out and all are now charged with assault and probably not second degree, they really went to town on the kid. Hope they enjoy the time in juvy because you taped it and the tape don't lie.

This is why is said, if that had been my child, I'd probably be in jail right now. Something tell me, the bully's dad would have wanted to fight about it. And I would have been in a perfect mood for it. Hell, I only live about 30 minutes from there.

Because parents solving their problems with fighting is the best way to get kids to stop fighting...

First of all, the kids were not fighting. The one boy attacked the other, and the victim did nothing to fight back, nothing to even protect himself. That is not a fight. Second, if my child were attacked like that, I would want to have some words with the bully's parents. And, as I said, something tells me his dad would have wanted to fight about it. And if that were the case, I would have been happy to oblige.

Puncher kid should be kicked in the nuts and get his ass thrown to juvy.

There should be a more severe punishment for things like this. Something that would scare kids into not bullying. But then again, there are pretty severe punishments for murder and that happens all the time...

Well, that is an extremely immature and unproductive way for a parent to act and just fuels into the overall problem.

If the kid was normal and healthy, but just a bit wimpy, I would take him to an MMA class, where he could learn to defend himself, and grow his self confidence and self esteem.

It is different with a kid who has autism however.

This makes me sick. I didn't even watch the video, I don't think I can without getting angry. Makes me feel like going all captain America on their butts
