Sci-Fi Avatar: The Way Of Water

“We’re using [high frame rate] to improve the 3D where we want a heightened sense of presence, such as underwater or in some of the flying scenes. For shots of just people standing around talking, [high frame rate] works against us because it creates a kind of a hyper realism in scenes that are more mundane, more normal. And sometimes we need that cinematic feeling of 24fps,” said Cameron.

Just got out of my screening of the re-release IMAX 3D and it was as mesmerizing as the last time but even better and that post credit scene with Lo’ak and the Tulkun was glorious. Can’t wait for the full movie.

Avatar is a visually stunning movie and I hope The Way of Water is as visually stunning

Seems like a better balance.

You know how Jake wasn’t originally part of the Avatar program but his twin was? His twin died so they brought him in. Maybe they only ever hire twins for that exact reason and that’s why everyone that died is back :o.

Jk jk. Anyway this comes out in 2 months now. I’m excited for the promotion to ramp up. I really hope this time they’ve crafted more interesting characters and story to go along with the stunning visuals.

I'm still confused about how Stephen Lang's character is back.

Flashback scenes, maybe?
Minor spoilers since it's pretty much been confirmed by Stephen Lang:

He has an avatar body now.

Yeah but like how does that work? His Avatar body has his memories? How? He was dead.

I guess we'll find out. A similar type of thing is happening with Sigourney Weaver but since her new character is a Na'vi teen, I'm guessing that Grace's consciousness somehow went into the tree where she died in the first movie and somehow manifested itself in a reincarnated body.

That makes more sense because of the Eywa and the whole Pandora Network, which Grace was technically plugged into at the time of her death. The clear implication is that the daughter is like a reborn version of Grace, or like a piece of Grace's consciousness was transferred into Eywa.

But that happened while she was still alive.

Yeah with Quaritch I have no idea. Since he has the tattoo I'm inclined to believe that he was created by those up-to-no-good humans.

An interesting look back to when he was on 60 Minutes.
