Sci-Fi Avatar: The Way Of Water

eeh…looks like an expensive video game

Looks like it'll make an unenthusiastic billion for sure.

It's not a bad trailer, but for a movie that relies on visuals as much as this does, I genuinely don't understand why they only have a 1080p trailer.
I would have thought Cameron would insist on 4K given all his devotion to film tech.

The underwater scenes looks genuinely amazing IMO. Really looking forward to those scenes and I also like that so far they aren't actually giving much of the plot/story away in the marketing.

Hopefully, they are saving a lot of cool/awesome stuff for the actual movie.

I hope this trailer blows me away next week in the IMAX…

Much better way to view it than in limited resolution on a small screen, especially for a film making strong use of 3D. Hopefully the trailer plays with Wakanda Forever.

Going to chalk it up to the trailer being on youtube and of lesser quality, but some of those shots did not look good considering how close it is to release.

Even still, there's a lot of impressive VFX work going on.
Yeah, makes a ton of difference. Should look much better on the best and biggest hi-tech cinema screens (as this film is made to be viewed on).

shame James Horner is no longer with us I really loved his score for this I hope the new guy at least uses some of his themes for continuity sake
Yes, big shame. I think there were some nods in the trailer so it seems likely.

If any film has a shot at 1.5 billion+ from this year, this is the one.
Imagine if the story and characters are top quality this time to go with the visuals. If that happens and word gets around I think it will have amazing legs.

Interesting that this feels like another teaser rather than telling us more of the story. Either way, i'm excited.
Good that the story is under wraps for now IMO while we get to sample the visuals.

No way it was going to be merely decent-looking after looking so good back in 2009, and now with another 13 years of film-tech development since, and the one of the masters of film-tech at the helm. Cameron is so passionate about this stuff and put everything into these films. I'm hoping the 3D also is a lot better, although not sure as the tech on that by others aside from Cameron doesn't seem to have been pushed forward a whole lot. Most films since Avatar seemed to be phoning it in on that front and just trying to ride on its coat-tails for the extra money with minimal effort.

It is going to be a very, very pretty 3 hours.
Yeah, I reckon the visuals are going to make those three hours fly by.

Neytiri is dying right?:csad:
I don't think they'd kill her off now with at least three sequels left after this but going by Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang coming back, even if she were to die...
