Why aren't more people talking about this?

Classic Avengers stories reprinted under Art Adams covers with new back-up stories written by Dwayne McDuffie and painted by Mike Oeming. Woo!

I see Thor, the original Vision, Cap, and the Black Knight displayed prominently and I am happy. :D

Didnt know about it until just now. Hell, i'd buy it just for that cover alone (Shades of George Perez!!!:wow: )...

Man, i'd LOVE to see a few "untold tales" with the original line-up (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, and the Pyms)...

Oh yeah, for those of you who didn't follow the link to Newsarama, I forgot to mention: The back-ups by McDuffie and Oeming that take place in the time period of the reprinted issue aren't the only back-ups. There's also one drawn by Kevin Maguire and written by Stan himself.

Wow, Stan lee himself writing a back up story for issue #1!!!

I'm anxious to see what the new coloring will look like, too. The Masterworks had vibrant colors, but they still seemed flat to me. I'd like to see some of the coloring techniques of today applied to classic Kirby artwork. If modern coloring can prop up so many crappy pencilers, imagine how amazing it could make Kirby's work, which is already incredible.

Never thought i'd see the day when The Avengers began to muscle in on X-Men territory as Marvel's #1 team franchise...

I say its about time

The Avengers are Marvel's all star team

It's unfortunate they had to bastardize the spirit of the team to get them this far, but I can't argue with the results. I was actually thinking of trying New Avengers out simply because I missed the Avengers so much, but now Avengers Classics will fill that void quite nicely. First great thing to come out of Bendis' reworking of the team so far.

cool, this is another one to get..

its all avengers at the moment it seems!!

Damnit! How many more fooking Avenger books are Marvel gonna reel into my wallet with? :(

Shame Mr. Fantastic didn't get in on that cover. He was an Avenger for a tad afterall. :(

F-in sweet. It's about time Marvel dipped back into their roots...when you know, heroes fought villains and the characters acted like themselves.

Not bad, I rather enjoyed X-Men Classics so gonna definitely pick this up. Especially since, y'know, this is before Iron Man was a dick an' the Avengers just fought Ninjas.
