10 years ago I probably would have been over the moon excited about these news but man it just reeks of desperation. This is what happens when you have 5 years worth of "It was fine I guess"-lukewarm reception to MCU films with the 2 best received ones being a multiverse Spider-Man movie and a multiverse Deadpool/Wolverine movie.

I love some of these actors but this just feels sad.

Can’t say I’m over the moon to see Ghost on the cast list lol. You know what I mean? Good actress and a fine character, sure, but this announcement just read to me as a who’s who of who’s available and still under contract.

I’m more excited to see the OG X-Men returning; though it’s corny Tatum is sucking all the air out of the room. Hopefully the Halle Berry announcement is incoming if there’s more cast to be revealed; and would have been nice to see a chair for Anna Paquin too. I can’t imagine Marvel is hiding the reveal for Famke Janssen and Shawn Ashmore lol, maybe I shouldn’t hold out hope there.

I just hope that they worked out everyone's schedules this time around. It was painfully obvious during a few scenes in Infinity War and Endgame that not all of the cast members were physically present together when filming their character's scenes.

It would be shameless fanservice but damn would it be cathartic to see a group shot of Tobey Spider-man standing with the OG X-Men. The one-two punch that began the Marvel revolution.

I didn't get enough sleep from the long livestream.

But I woke up feeling excited about the X-Men. James Marsden, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn are technically new to the MCU since they haven't appeared in previous mcu films. I really hope they get to a lot here. Kelsey/Patrick/Channing too.

If there are more announcements for the main cast of Doomsday. I need the three queens, Halle, Famke and Anna. The original superheroine of Marvel movies!

I wouldn't put it past Marvel Studios though to bring back these legacy characters just to unceremoniously kill them off after a few moments on the screen.

The idea of Cumming revisiting Nightcrawler after I just binge-watched all of The Traitors is so wild. I don’t expect superheroics from him. I just want him to pontificate about murder and taunt reality TV stars.

I thought it was an effective way of spreading hype rather than just announcing them all in 1 single post.

I mean we are literally in a message board talking about movies that are always years away. 5 hours of livestream is really nothing in comparison.

It could have been done in a 5 minute, or like half an hour, clip of the same content. It just took the slow reveal concept to a new level, and not a good level.
