Endgame Avengers: Endgame Box Office (Poll is for second film only)

Box office grosses are given the higher profile IMO because ticket sales by themselves aren’t the objective of a studio releasing a film, revenues and profits are. If EG wants to sell at a loss with a 1c price per ticket, then it will sell millions more tickets.

Yeah. That goes to the ticket prices not tracking disposable income percentages.

Do you think the O/S total will reach $2b?
Not a chance.

Is 1.95B in play OS? Because it looks like 850M DOM could be in play.
The final gross looks like its gonna be ~$850 mil US + ~$1950 mil OS for a $2800 mil WW.

1.9B and 850M+, in my mind, breaks the WW record (See Avatar's initial release numbers).

Its 100% breaking the original $2749 mil gross of Avatar and with a good chance to break the $2788 mil current record.

Thursday has Endgame trailing IW just slightly despite Aladdin performing better than expected during previews. Now lets hope for a 21/23M 4-day we. While keeping in mind that any number short of that range would make the road to 850M a lot more complicated.

162M to beat Avatar still.

@8ulk87 2705M seems a little high, I would say 2685/2690 after Monday. Can’t see how it would break 2700 so soon. But I could be wrong.

2626,8 + $15 mil from OS for Monday to Thursday which isnt added yet. The US gross was $9,96 mil.

+ $22,5 mil from US for the 4day.
+ $40 mil from OS for the 4day.

= $2705 mil.

So you actually expect it to increase over last weekend ? Because EG did 38.8M OS-China last weekend. And the rest of the world doesn’t get Monday off so it will be a regular weekend on that front, worsened by the fact that it is not playing in China anymore.

Yes hopefully. We need a good holiday weekend.

OS added $19,2 mil.
Im assuming those are Monday to Thursday grosses.

So $2700 mil after Monday looks good.

Nice. The overseas daily weekday grosses must still be very good then.

Very nice. After Monday, we could be at $800M domestic & $1.894B, leaving another $40-$50 domestic and $44-54 foreign left to go. :)

Nah....i don't think disney is gonna do a re-release of this movie cos they are just gonna leave it in cinemas as long as possible. This should ensure that EG will eventually take the boxoffice WW trophy around september 2019.

Walt Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame earned another $4.225 million (-43%) on Friday for a new $785.556 million domestic cume. Presuming a $17.19 million (-43%) Fri-Sun and $22.39 million Fri-Mon gross, the MCU epic should pass $800 million domestic tomorrow or Monday at the latest, ending its first month in theaters with around $803.7 million. We’ll get overseas updates tomorrow, but it should end the weekend just over/under the $2.7 billion global milestone.

If it comes agonizingly close then they will keep it in theaters, and probably expand it for a couple of weeks, just like they did with Black Panther to cross the 700 million domestically milestone.

I thought about this the other day.
Since Avatar now belongs to Disney i think that they aren't going to be worried about AEG not beating Avatar. Also because there are 3/4 sequels to Avatar coming soon and the whole "Sequel to the biggest movie in history" will likely play a big factor in the marketing...

While in the near future i suspect that there won't be any big team up Avengers movie that will come close to that Avatar record. Maybe in 10 years or so, something from Marvel might come along that challenges it... Otherwise i only see Avatar sequels breaking its own record.

A modest 44% drop.

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $798,172,736 29.8%
+ Foreign: $1,879,300,000 70.2%
= Worldwide: $2,677,472,736

P.S. The OS grosses are collapsing. I dont think we re getting there like that. It will fall short by around $20 mil.

Yes. That’s a super sharp drop OS from last weekend. Even factoring in that it lost China, it is still dropping something around 60% across the board. And with competition rolling out it’s only going to get worse.

Domestic numbers are encouraging though and a finish slightly over/under 850M does seem likely at this point.

OS has maybe another 35M in the tank and with another 50M dom I agree it should end at about 2.76B.
