So, I was reading this interview with Marvel Producer Jeremy Latcham about Age of Ultron when this excerpt in particular called my attention (sorry if there are any mistakes, I had to retype word by word from my phone because IGN is blocked on my work PC):
Now, maybe it's just me, but this seems like one of those deliberate vague MCU movie elements that just beg to have an expanded take on AoS. Per AoS's current story only Strucker's right hand man Doctor List is left to deal with before the king himself, so sort of cutting all ties of the show to the greater MCU there doesn't seem to have much more room left to fill that blank that doesn't involve a special appearance of the Avengers in the show, and honestly how could they possibly top last season's finale if they don't bring in an Avenger or two? That episode had Nick freaking Fury himself!
So, what do you guys think?
It's implied that they had adventures off screen that we haven't seen and that they've been working towards a common goal. That goal is to clean up all the messes that they've collectively been involved in that involves the fall of SHIELD -- which Cap and Natasha are responsible for that -- [and] the scepter getting left on Earth -- which Thor probably should've taken it home, and it was probably an oversight on his part to trust these idiots on Earth with this thing.
