who else loved the music in the film, so many great songs!

Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin"

Jimi Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower"

Simon & Garfunkel's "Sound Of Silence"

Philip Glass and the Mars sequence:up:.

They are all good songs, but they felt out of place when put in the context of the movie. It made the tone awkward a lot of the time. I understand what Snyder was doing, but it just didn't work as well as he'd hoped.

Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin" and Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds Of Silence" scenes fit really well.

I'm Your Boogey Man made me smile :)
I loved how it was the complete opposite of what was going on in the scene

I agree. The songs flash mentioned are the ones that I believe worked best, but others like 99 Luftballoons just felt kind of, as you put it, awkward.

I'll agree that the Dylan sun opening credits one worked perfectly.

I loved the soundtrack. Each piece of music fit the scene, and it's very refreshing to hear actual music in a film rather than a score.

the music was right on the money in this movie...they were so well placed in some parts that it gave me chills

Seeing The Comedian's death set to "Unforgettable" was....unforgettable. (Sorry for the terrible pun.)

I really feel conflicted about Hendrix's placement.

I felt the music in the film both from the soundtrack and the score was complementary with the incredible imagery/visuals in the film. Worked quite well for me.

Rise of the Valkyries was PERFECT. Just made me think of the 'fake breasts' and 'carnal knowledge', which was the saddest thing ever. Wonderful play on the actions of the scene.

All the music was great, it made the film culturally relevant, which Watchmen has always been.

I thought Sound of Silence worked great for The Comedian's funeral. It just fit so well with the scene.

I was a bit surprised The Beginning is the End is the Beginning wasn't used. It fit the trailer perfectly, and it would've easily suited the movie.

Muse - Take A Bow wasn't in the film either.

i dont think a newer sounding song that would have fit with the movie

I downloaded all of Tyler Bates' score and Bob Dylan's the times they are a changing onto my ipod:woot:

Good. Now go listen to other Bob Dylan songs and educate yourself. : P

Disagree. Valkyries was a cliche'd and pretty corny choice if you ask me. It's been overused so many times. Glad to see you enjoyed it though.

Does anyone else wonder if Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" would have worked better than Hendrix's?

Yep I felt the same way, great songs but bad timing. That´s why Ilike better a music score than songs in movies, with external songs makes the movie feel less original, somewhat adulterated.

Still I understand what Snyder was going to. 80's songs on an 80´s themed movie.
