Backing up Hard Drive

Hey guys, does the ps3 require a specific External Hard Drive for you to back it up on, b/c i have been trying to back up my games on to an external hardrive and it keeps saying to "Connect Media to save Destination" even though i already have it hooked to my External Hard drive

What size of external hard drive are you using? You HDD needs to be a Fat32. You may need to format it using Disk Management through Windows.

you can back up your PS3 to an iPod. As long as you have space, pretty much any USB device will do

well i have tried my 2 500gb external hard drive and a 64gb one and it wasn't able to detect it so i might use my mom's I pod and see if that works thanks guys

The PS3 only detects fat32.
