Looking around the web, I've noticed that lots of people remember Bad Boys 2, while the first one has been totally forgotten.

I ask why - I think that the first Bad Boys is great fun, an enjoyable action-comedy. Martin Lawrence & Will Smith have a fantastic chemistry in this one. The dialogue is funny, and the action is cool. Major props for the cinematography and the score... Téa Leoni is hot!

I couldn't really enjoy the sequel. It was a lot less funny than the original. The lines and chemistry between the two stars simply didn't click. I despise the over the top directing in this one. The cinematography isn't as 'atmospheric' and the score is simply awful... terrible. The action scenes weren't bad, and there's a great chase scene but the movie doesn't do it for me... at all. The only thing I enjoyed about this was its teaser trailer.

So which one do you prefer - Bad Boys or Bad Boys 2?

I say - long live the original!

The sequel. I couldn't stand Tea Leoni's character. The sequel seemed a lot less crowded and better prepared the hilarious moments between Martin and Will.

while i like the action and humor better in Bad Boys 2, it felt like they were going through the motions to me. Bad Boys felt more fresh. besides...Bad Boys 2 ripped off of Jackie Chan's Police Story with the vehicles going through the hill-side village. :down

I love both, but the first was the better made film. I choose the first.

Tea Leoni was brutal in the 1st one... but bad boys II... except for a few action sequences... was pretty forgettable. EIther way I really wasn't a fan of either films although Lawrence and Smith had good chemistry together and were entertaining.

Bad Boys was a fun enough film that worked for me. (7/10)

Bad Boys 2 is one of the worst movies ever made. No joke. (1/10)

The first Bad Boys was awesome. The second Bad Boys had its moments but overall it wasn't that good. Also, the ending was horrible.

I liked both, but for some reason BB2 sticks out in my head the most.

I love both films. I like the 2nd more though.

First one is pretty damn good, 8/10.

The second one was not as good, funnier though, 6.5/10

Loved them both, but Will's character turned into some psychopath in the 2nd one. Ha but I found myself laughing out loud at some parts "Have my daughter home at 10:01, if she ain't, I'm locked, loaded and huntin' yo.....:hehe:"

Overall though, I'd say the first one. It's close to a classic with me.

The first one was one of the worst movies I ever saw in theatres. Luckily me and my buddies got in for free thanks to a friend working there.

Have no desire to ever see part 2.

Bad Boys was very good.

Bad Boys 2 was ridiculous. I didn't like it. It went too far and had Michael Bay's signature written all over it. The problem with Bay is that he makes his protagonists into SUPERMEN. Will Smith's Mike Lowrey character was your standard action-hero in Bad Boys, but in Bad Boys 2 (which I saw in theaters) I remember thinking the whole time "Man, Bay made this character into Superman. He's invincible. He can't be hurt" Will Smith's character was ridiculously impervious to harm and was basically invincible.

I hate action movies that don't create SOME sense of danger for the main action hero (which is why the original Die Hard is still my favorite action movie ever... John McClain gets hurt, he sweats, he bleeds, he whines, he moans, he doubts his ability to win, he wonders if he's going to die)....

Bad Boys 2 crossed the fine line between standard action fun and ridiculous laughable action stupidity. Both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence came across as impenetrable gods.....I felt no tension, no danger.

i liked the ending in the first one better.
