lets say for the sake of argument that ed norton doesn't come back for the avengers movie. who should they cast banner as ? id say go with eric banna again just to have a familiar face attached. just for the love of god use the new hulk and not ang lees version.

take a look about Bruce Banner and the Hulk

Not a bad idea... and bring back Jennifer Connely... for obvious reasons.

Banner had better be in the Avengers film, and not as the villain, I have zero interest in re-creating the first Ultimates arc for that film...

I don't know why but I have a feeling they will use all new faces.
Since the budget will be astronomical with that many known names.
They will also be a problem of equal time.
A budget that they need for Special fx.
I think they will keep the big names for the Solo Movies.

I am not a fan of recasting but I would not be surprised if Norton says no to the Avengers and the next Hulk movie.

If they recast I would like the similar small scientist looking Bruce Banner. I would the guy playing Dr. Manhattan to play Bruce. I would have to think about it a little more. It is tough to find someone as talented as Norton with a similar look.

Why would Norton say no? He was PSYCHED about his "first big action movie." He LOVES the Hulk. If there were any point he would have said "no" it would've been BEFORE he was casted and re-wrote the script. But he said yes.

I really wanna see Norton come back. He was really underrated as Bruce Banner, and he was awesome. The Avengers should be formed to track him down, but he's not the villain, some other bad guy's manipulating events to frame the Hulk for destruction (like Loki, or Mandarin, or something.) Then he joins the Avengers, and Bruce becomes their scientist, at least for the first movie.

I don't think Marvel will resign Norton if they get equally big names or close to equal names for the other characters/heroes in the film. They have a budget after all.

Marvel confirms things they said before here:

Although the future of Marvel movies is full of coolness, I don't like this:
"The team of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor will come together in Avengers, scheduled for release in July 2011."

I ask the obvious question: where is the Hulk?

The Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton tells MTV he is uncertain about the green fella's future.

"The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque," Norton said. "I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do."

He added he was not sure if he would be asked back for Marvel Studios' planned team-up project, The Avengers, scheduled for a July 2011 release.

"They've got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters," Norton said. "Who knows where they'll go?"

Obtuse? All I can think of is that scene in Shawshank Redemption where the Warden threw Andy in solitary confinement for using that word. Someone needs to throw Norton in the hole.

The use of the Hulk should be a huge question mark at this time. Should he be a villain, have just a cameo or be excluded altogether? What would his inclusion mean to what would be an already huge budget? If Marvel's mind wasn't opaque at this time I would be shocked. Get Cap, Thor and IM2 rolling before focusing on the big daddy.

this would be best fit to set up how the hulk is with them cause he does stand out..they can do their own take on it them have them fight together as a team a real villian in the sequel

He may have loved the character, but reports say that trying to get along with the producers and director was nightmarish.

Odds are, if there is an Avengers movie, they may simply forego Banner and just showcase the Hulk.

i don't like that idea at all. besides the avengers movie isn't set in stone yet, there are other characters that need to be set up successfully yet.

I say either get Norton to come back, or cut hulk all together.
