Remember the days of the blogs?

Well, I'm just curious if based off of the snippets you saw from the blogs if the actual film felt consistent with it.

Did you feel you got the film you expected from the blogs? OR... Did you feel like the blogs were great but the film did not live up to the tease?

expected a completely different movie. when i was in the theater it was all different.
plus i had to add that i was a lot of times here soi knew a lot of things. and since they cut a lot out of the movie i was sad to see that some parts are missing.

the good thing about the blogs was that we saw something from SR way before the movie. the bad thing about them is that they showed us things that at the end were not in the final cut.

In most respects yes...it didn't seem very huge and epic actually...I realized that when I saw the snow set they had for the journey to the fortress...But, I got the film I waited for and saw basically....

The blogs only gave me a feel for the people and feeling behind the scenes. The trailers gave me impressions of what the film would be like. The film turned out exactly how I thought it would, except for 3 things.

1) The shirt rip felt anti-climatic
2) The 'out of the broom closet' change to Superman scene
3) The return to Krypton scene

Well I had no idea they were going to copy so much from donner's movie, right down to the whole darn land land land salesman version of lex. :cmad: I knew singer was saying it'd be a new superman III... or that's what I guessed it was, but no where in my mind did I think it would be part remake of STM.

:yay: oh well. At least we got jason.

Speaking of him, I don't know why they tried to hide he was supe's kid. Anyone slightly familiar with soap operas has seen this plot twist happen again and again and again and this time I mean come on, the age, the amount of years supes was a way. Very simple to figure out. The real plot twist for me would have been if he didn't chuck the piano and Lois was killed.

Anyway, I only watched two blogs and they weren't that exciting, just a few bits of info about wardrobe and I remember one was about the guy playing Jimmy. Nothing that got me too excited... no. But still it's true I did expect a better movie, not based on blogs, but Singer's past work.

He's proven to be better than this. At least when he's in wrath of khan mode.

The editing was an issue for me. It just seemed rather sloppy in places. Reminded me of King kong and how I wish peter jackson were more conscious of the audience not caring to spend 3 hours on a story about a big monkey.

I also thought kumar would be more than a nameless henchman guy...

I didn't have an opinion on the casting until I saw the film, so no expectations there. Eh I just expected something up to Singer's previous standards you know, not like this with rehashes of the notebook, passion, and STM.... not like this... i can't believe this is the best that could be done after all the developement hell supes went through. Yes after all that they decided to shoot superman in his eye.

Indeed.

agreed wesyeed. 20 years and we get this....
its just not good enough.

To tell the truth, with just how much I hyped my self up to this film a year before it even came out...I dont really know what I expected... But I DO KNOW that I absolutely love this film... One of the best superhero flicks ever!

what i got from the blogs was that this film was gonna be very impressive visually-- and it really was, for all my crticisms of it. i'm hoping that it could at least get a nomination for Cinematography and Art Design because the movie did hit all the right notes there.

as was mentioned the only other thing that i expected from the movie that i saw in the blogs were the deleted scenes, but i've been at this spoiler game for far too lon to know that what i see in BTSs doesnt mean i get to see it in the finished product.

I don't really think anyone expected this film. Even the people who liked it and claim to have no problems with it. Some sodium pentathol would reveal at least some degree of dissapointment.

I expected an epic Superhero film worthy of this iconic character. I got Superman:Terms of Endearment.

^ Yup and its going to get even worse I'm sure. Can you say Zod Returns???

I thought it would at leat be a good movie. I was wrong.

I expected to be a great movie, the best superman movie ever. I expected the whole movie to be like the plane sequence. That was mindblowing and perfect. I was wrong. Singer blew it. I got a Dr. Evil lex, stupid comedic scenes, a movie with so many plotholes and problems and to find out that they cut a lot of stuff was really depressing.

I`ll just buy the DVD because it`s Superman and for the extras.

First off, I enjoyed the movie. However it didn't live up to my expection totally 100% [I think the only problem I had was that Singer cut out "Return To Krypton" journey. and that we didn't get to see a superhero smackdown]

Exactly what I've been saying. Here it is 2006 and that's all they have to give us for a "SUPERMAN" movie? Chris Reeves made tights look macho. Routh did the exact opposite!

From the blogs and everything, this movie was exactly what I thought, and everyone on here knew it too, that's why it made no sense for all the complaining, everyone said they knew the plot and everything, bassically saw it before it happened and said they'd love it .:oldrazz:

I hoped the film would of had a better script/story.
