Batman (1966) Screen Test! Adam West! Cool!

That was great, i thought this scene is serious then actual original series.

This was how the show was meant to be but then they changed the tone and style to make it a "parody".

The costume looks quite different. The insignia is obviously different but the ears seem more like the ears on the cowl worn in the black and white serials.

to bad the series ended up becoming the symbol of campy

It looks as if the serious was originaly intended to be serious.

I like how when West and Ward are in the costume and look at each other, they were probably thinking "What the F*** did we get into?"

Think about how different pop culture would be if it had gone that way...

It's a much overlooked fact that '66 Batman had a reinforced cowl long before it became the realist vogue.

"And when our good housekeeper finds out what you've been doing on these...supposed fishing trips of ours...."

hilarious! the tackle was still in its packaging! :joker:

Very cool. It was like the comics as drawn by Carmine Infantino....

Wonder if it would have been as successful had they gone with the more serious tone as opposed to the campy version...?

well i'm of the seemingly minority opinion that the campy format was a good thing, BUT i enjoyed seeing that played off like it was supposed to be serious... put an interesting twist on some alraedy familiar scenes... hope they include that and some other good tidbits when they finally get around to releasing the series on DVD...
