Close if unnecessary thread!

looks like the same case as the SE, so i'm assuming the special features are the same. still, it'd be worth it just for the book, and to actually have it on blu-ray. i can't wait!

The Region 2 Blu-rays for all four movies came out in the UK last year. They had exactly the same special features as the most recent DVDs. I reckon the only difference is the booklet.

Does the picture look good, or is it just like the regular DVD? I know older movies sometimes dont transfer over to Blu-Ray all that good, and look just like the regular movies.

I wonder when will be released in UK. Looks fantastic.

All 4 of the Burton/Schumacher films on Blu apparently have excellent transfers according to the reviews that I've read.

....it probably won't since they released it in the UK last year. Not that I think there'll be much of a difference between editions.

I'm preordering this from amazon right now...This is too amazing to pass up. Look how sexy it looks!!!

I want a Batman Returns digibook Blu-ray!

yeah it looks like the features are the same as the SE, but i'll still buy it for the book and the HD.

they need to release a special edition of the prince soundtrack with "Dance with the Devil" and all the remixes and b-sides, even though i have them all. I can dream, b/c it will never happen due to dispute b/w prince and WB.

You have all that? :wow:

I cant tell you how friggin' lucky you are...I'd kill for the rare Prince stuff

i will tell you all..i just bought the 4 pack american blu rays the other day at best buy....obviously they arent as great looking as tdk or begins but the transfers went wonderfull! very happy with the upgrade. now i cant wait to see how well ghostbusters and gb2 is going to look in june :)

Batman 89' hasn't really transfered well but the subsequent movies in the series got better as time went on, it shows.

yeah, GB is one of my all-time favorite movies, but the image quality is hurt-ing. i doubt they can improve much on it, though. what they need to do is touch up the "dog" in lewis' apartment so it looks more "real".

anyway, back to batman...

so i just got the five disc set of all the movies on blu ray and let me tell you, Batman looks amazing. I can't believe how wonderfully they restored it. I was expecting a low res 1080p picture with grains and film stains, but it is clear as can be and really adds a whole new element to the movie. you are able to see the toys they use instead of nicholson in helicopter scenes, the goofy expressions keaton makes etc. must buy!

I'm watching the Blu Ray of the first one from the box set right now. Jesus Christ, you can pick out so much detail. There's so many things with this I never noticed before. Bob the Goons scar on his left cheek, the file reading "CIA DDID NERVE GAS DISCONTINUED 1977" on Jokers desk in with all the pictures of Smilex victims, explaining where he got it from beyond "adept at chemistry" later on. It's one of the best looking transfers I've ever seen. It also sounds like they redid the sound, as its much more crisp, and has a better mix than I remember the Anthology DVDs having. Totally worth the $75 I paid for it.

Wow, $75 sounds pretty expensive...

Even though I bought the recent UK BLU-RAY release... I think I can buy this for the movies 20th anniversary.

Since we are talking about Blu-Rays I have HD LCD TV and a blu-ray on the laptop would I able to play Region 1 dics on them?

I want to say that blu-rays are reigon free, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I know that with computer dvd, and possibly blu ray, drives, they usually give you the option to switch what reigon they play, but it's a 2 or 3 time switch only.
