The Dark Knight Rises Batman 3 will start shooting March 2011

Haha, smooth.

Considering how close he's been to the production of Inception, I don't doubt he's legit - plus it makes sense. But I'm guessing WB won't appreciate this.

Cool, not too far away to start seeing set pics!

Very nice, as we all pretty much knew, this production is further ahead than we think.

Big news is just around the corner my friends......

i have little doubt this is legit, he's had good info before and has interviewed nolan a number of times

That seems tad early doesn't it?

Nice find OP! Let's hope we get some casting info soon.

Didn't TDK start shooting in April '07? March seems about right.

Maybe by a month or so, but it could be a seasonal thing, too. The last one was shot mostly in summer, but maybe for this one, they're wanting a "cooler" feel. March in Chicago's pretty different from July.

Either that, or they could just be planning a longer shoot.

Batman begins started filming around February 2004 if i remember correctly.

This is brillaint news!
Your right Milkman this production seems to be furthur ahead than we're being led to believe. The best news is come in the next 2 months i think!!! :woot:

Either way, the sooner the better!

I'm sure Bale will be glad they re shooting in the spring. I hear that Chicago is too hot in the summer and i cant imagine what it must be like wearing a rubber batsuit at that time of year.

So apart from it being cooler, how's the weather in March? Any rain, snow, wind? I'd love B3 to be set in the winter but i'd rather have rain and freezing breaths than snow.

When I shot the bar scene after Joker blows up the hospital, in August, it was 87 degrees outside. I was dressed for cold weather, and was sweating my a** off. It must have been excruciating for Bale to be in that suit at the time.

March temperatures range from 30's to the 50's, with rain and/or snow during 1/3 to 1/2 of the month.

You were an extra? And by "bar scene" you mean the scene were Two-Face kills that cop?

LOL, there was no extras in that scene. Just the bartender and Wurtz. He means the bar scene where Joker has Mike Engel hanging upside on TV delivering his threat.

That's about the best news I've heard all day. I suppose this means the script is done or is nearing completion, which means we'll get some major official news come ComiCon. Yes, things are coming together quite nicely...

I don't think Bale did a lot of Chicago day scenes outdoors in the suit. There was the car chase stuff, but that was at night.

But yeah still. Would suck. I wonder how Nolan does it with the full suit every day. :funny:

Ah yes, you re right! Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I think some "night" scenes are shot during the day with a special filter over the top to make them seem like night-time. For instance, the scene where Batman crouches outside Gordon's place when Barbara is told about his "death" was definitely shot during the day if you've seen the production photos of it.

That was one of the few times where they did that. Most of the outdoor night scenes were actually done at night.

Yep, I was an extra. And it was the other bar scene, as others here have already noted.

Another scene that I shot only partially made it into the movie. That one was even more fun with the heat - we were outside (as bystanders watching Maroni get arrested and led out of the restaurant), again dressed for cold weather AND I was wearing a lined trench-coat. The only part of that scene that made it into the movie was when they showed Gordon congratulating other detectives just after the arrests. We were positioned way behind him and are just a blur over his shoulder.

Despite the temps, it was a fun experience, and I've detailed it in the link below in my signature.

I know there was a quote from Bale saying something to the effect of "follow the sweat trail and you'll find me" when he was asked about working in the heat with the suit.

He wasn't in any of the scenes I shot, just Oldman and Roberts, so I can't say for sure when his scenes were done.
