Would it be a stretch for both of these to develop into franchises at the same time? Obviously batman is well on the way with the justice league reboot which is fine, i'm excited for that. But also i want something new and fresh and a nightwing movie/series of films would be to me a great interesting story.

Would this be a Nightwing movie based on John Blake? I'd prefer a rebooted Batman series introduce Dick Grayson, and show Dick shedding the Robin mantle in that series, and then after that do a solo Nightwing movie with Deathstroke as the villain.

Why would Nightwing be an interesting story? The general audience has barely been exposed to Dick Grayson. The general audience has not been exposed to Bruce Wayne father figure. And if they just make a Nightwing movie that basically Batman, is that really fresh?

Also John Blake should never make it past TDKR. He's not Dick Grayon but the general idea of Robin.

Why proceed to Nightwing when there has not been a solid film featuring Batman and Robin? Chris O'Donnell was a terrific casting choice, but his talent was wasted in a film that had one foot in the Englehart-Rogers era of the series, and one in the Adam West/Burt Ward series. I would love for the proposed scenario to develop down the road, but not in the first set of films.

Yes. We need to establish the first Robin first before establishing what happens to the first Robin.

In order to respect the character, a Nightwing movie should only happen with Dick Grayson in the new Batman reboot, once Dick is established as Robin in a couple of films.

The first time we see a Nightwing film (which may be the only time it ever happens) it should be Dick Grayson just like the first time we see a Justice League or World's Finest, Batman should be Bruce Wayne.

Nightwing would really make a great film once his story as Robin is shown. It could be set in Bludhaven with Deathstroke as the villain, featuring Barbara Gordon as his love interest. It could also help set up a Teen Titans series once JL has already come out.

Depends on when in Batman's career the reboot is set. If it's later in his career, I'd like to see it done, with the first film being based on Under the Hood, and then Nightwing spins off from that which retells his origin as both Robin and Nightwing.

Well, the only way it could work really would be to have the actors signed to like 20 picture deals, because in my view, aside from 6 films aka batman and justice league trilogies, there would have to be further films after those. Especially with Batman. If i'm making the new reboot, i dont have robin in any of the first three batman films. i feel like the second set of films (4-6) would be the way to include robin and Barbara Gordon to perhaps launch into their own film franchises. however getting actors to make that kind of a commitment is unfathomable.

This is a lot of what I'd like to see. I would love for the Batman reboot to start off with Jason Todd's death,it's ramifications on Bruce Wayne,Dick Grayson already Nightwing and Barbara Gordon already Oracle.

After that a Nightwing solo movie (both flashbacks and present day)that details Dick's journey from Robin to Nightwing, his relationship with Barbara and definitely Deathstroke as the main adversary. If by chance Cyborg is in the first JL film,I'd have him leave the team and form the Teen Titans with Nightwing.
