Batman and the Monster Men?

I was at my shop today and a couple of guys I know were telling me how great a read it is. But I'm really not sure...should I? I also have a birthday coming up soon, and I'm also looking to buy some new issues.

So for this story...Should I pick it up or not?

I'd highly recommend it as well. And if you get it, and enjoy it like many of the Batman fans around this beautiful community of nerdirific mofos I'd also recommend you to check out the current miniseries Matt Wagner is doing with Batman, and that's Batman and the Mad Monk. Basically a continuation of the Monster Men storyline.

Currently, in my opinion, the best Batman book being put out right now.

Matt Wagner did the writing and the pencils. The book has a real noir feel to it. And Wagner's art is excellent.

I'm half way through the trade. It's a very cool old-school style Detective story that has a Year One feel to it. I'm enjoying very much.
