According to Grace Randolph, Cole Sprouse is now in the mix?

Your disdain is so severe you'll take a baby faced actor who's biggest claim to fame is starring on a Disney show as a child, and is currently a supporting player in a CW show. That said I too would take him over ATJ. I just despise ATJ for the role a bit too much. I think she was just exaggerating tho

For actors under 30, ATJ and Nicholas Hoult are about as cream of the crop as you're going to get.

I'd be perfectly fine with Hoult, but if we are faulting ATJ for a lack of intensity (which I for one disagree with), then that applies tenfold to Hoult.I actually have come around on Hoult. He can bulk up and fit the suit fine, just gotta work on the cowl fitting his slim awkward shape of a face. lol
He has better recent receipts than ATJ.
It would have to take someone really off-kilter to get me to write anyone off, whomever it may eventually be.At the same time, you gotta trust in Reeves tho. I don't want a midget like Lerman, but if he ends up cast then Reeves saw something that we wouldn't see till we sitting in the theater.

Reeves has driven some fantastic performances out of people, and ultimately he's the one that's actually seeing these actors put on the cowl and act off his script. No one's more qualified to judge their merits as Batman.
Couple that with a multi-billion dollar studio putting the final touches on backing that choice. A choice that they'll have to stick with for a decade or more, and is the face of their biggest comic book property and by far the great competition to offer against Marvel's success.
Yeah, I'm gonna have faith those guys know what they're doing.
When it comes to Nicholas Hoult I still have that little indie film "Newness" from 2017 in mind. He was so incredibly wooden in that one, that I'd be really worried if he was cast. The only thing he has over ATJ is height and perhaps the voice.
I imagine his name was tossed in, even if it came more from the studio's side.Hammer was never in the running I'm guessing
Dylan will play Jughead while Cole plays Batman.Cole Sprouse is a lead character on a 22-episode-per-season show. Unless they kill Jughead or something (and that's always a possibility on that show), he's not our new Batman.
It's just not looking good for him. He said Hammer was in final talks and that they'd announce him in about a month.
Not only was his report immediately rebuked by the major trades, but here we are approaching May and no announcement to be had.
