Plus you can just picture the mainstream people loving that casting immediately, and instantly forgetting Bale.

He's definitely shown a dark side in Drive and God Only Forgives. I think this is actually feasible casting.

I agree. My avvy is a joke; I actually think he's the best name being thrown around (at least on the list of rumored contenders). Although I have to admit, I absolutely hated Only God Forgives. It wasn't his fault though; the movie was a pretentious mess. But Drive is a damn near perfect movie, IMO and Gosling is brilliant in it.
