oh god
you're torturing me with the joe pics

:p

Nah, he's not that bad, it's just his acting I don't like. Please anyone but Joe for Batman!

It's really hard to judge Manganiello. True Blood writing for his character is crap; he doesn't have much depth. People complain about the long hair and bearded look, but he plays a freaking werewolf on TB. What the heck is suppose to look like? Not really fair to base it off that.

3 years ago, but is this less "*****e" for you.

I think he's wasting himself on True Blood. I mean sure he got his break there, but the role is the side role of a side role. He doesn't contribute in any way to the main plot. The werewolf storyline is just lame and uninteresting. And he has to keep his True Blood look all the year round because that is pretty much the only thing he's getting.

He told Larry King Now that HBO wouldn't let him go to even audition for MOS. He had booked a screntest and Snyder was keen but they wouldn't let him go. So ultimately Snyer ended up testing only Cavill and casting him but he did say that Joe was the only other guy he was seriously talking to.

That Arm & Hammer is hilarious.

Armie Hammer or Joe Manganiello? Height is sort of an issue for both. They are both tall guys, maybe too tall both are 6'5. What if you had to pick one and not say neither.

I'd pick Joe M. On film he won't look so much taller if they just use the right angles. Sort of how Hugh Jackman's Wolverine doesn't always look so tall.
Joe M by default. Hammer seems kinda really fruity to me, just your typical priveliged super rich socialite. He can work in comedies and stuff. But I could never take him seriously as a badass.

But he does have good comic timing. He was good in the Tarsem Singh movie Mirror Mirror.

I like Joe Manganiello. I don't think hes as much of a *****e as some of you are saying. But after rewatching TDK and TDKR. Joe simply doesn't compare.

I'm disappointed Christian Bale won't be returning, I really think he is the best possible Batman we could have right now. He was just so perfect for the role. ..

The only actors who I could see turning in a performance of that level would be Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm.

You brought up a good point Slumcat... Now I think Jon Hamm and Joe Manganiello might not have much of a chance at this.

And a film actor like Orlando Bloom can because he's not as busy.

So even though many would want Jon or Joe, it may go to film actor rather than TV one.
Cavill was free to do movies because he finished shooting the last of his TV shows in early 2010.

These movies have a very long shoot. So its kinda difficult for TV actors to manage their schedule until they are very intrinsically involved in the making of the movie or the show so that they can move things around a bit.

I know I am going to get smacked around here, but my 2nd choice AFTER Burn Notice's Jeff D. is Sam Witwer, from SYFY's BEING HUMAN. He can act, and no matter what happens with his current show he is going on to bigger things I think. Batman would be a huge get for his career. I would find him and Henry C. on screen together quite appealing. He's young, but I think he can pull off an older mien. It's what he's currently doing anyway, right?

Consider the source. Some WB execs said it would be the film of the year. These guys are not going to say anything negative about the film before it comes out.

I can forgive Cavill on that, but his inability to rise above the film's flaws worries me. Cavill hasn't worked in almost 2 years. He's read scripts and such but studios and directors aren't rushing to cast him. Not a good sign.

He was also the only one to screen test for that part. Ouch. Apparently Snyder's chosen one from the start as Routh was Singer's.

Hire an actor for their looks and not their ability to portray one of fiction's most iconic characters.
Since he was announced for MOS in early 2011, almost 3 years ago, he's had only 2 projects, one fell through - The Great Wall and the other he's shooting next month - The Man From UNCLE.

Nothing besides that. And Cavill did repeat that he wasn't saying it just to promote the film, he said MOS was genuinely the best screenplay he had ever read in his life. But he probably never received good scripts in the past though he did work in a Woody Allen film.

I just remembered this Venezuelan actor suggested by quite a few several pages ago.

Edgar Ramirez (36 years old, 5'10)
He was in Wrath of the Titans as Ares and Zero Dark Thirty and Carlos.

He's got the look for Bruce Wayne, his ethnicity is not an issue at all, just whether or not he can play an American with the right accent.
Really great choice. Absolutely superb actor, very charismatic, can be very threatening, can be very brooding, can be very charming.

Watch his performance in Olivier Assayas' Carlos. It literally like an audition for Batman, everything you want Batman to do, he does in that film.

The only slight nitpic is accent, he can work on that. But otherwise he;s the very embodiment of the character. And like I said, he really is a gifted actor and has the look and physicality down.

He would be perfect.

Not feeling it either. I'm not feeling Oscar Isaac's look for it either, even though i really like him as an actor
Oscar Isaac was suggested? Hmm, I don't really see it right now. I wonder if he was suggested just because he was in SuckerPunch?

why because their Spanish:o

j/k:oldrazz:

Bat-Manuel takes muy offense, muchacho!! He may quit superheroing full time and get involved in politics, possibly running for mayor of a large east coast city like Metropolis, or Opal...

Edgar Ramirez is a good actor but in certain pics he reminds me of...

If anyone should be jokingly accused of racism, it's Eddie Dean.

He was the first one to suggest Edgar Ramirez and Oscar Isaac, and he always posted those two suggestions in the same post.

Wow. I mention former Smallville alumni Sam Witwer AND Bat-Manuel, and nothing? Geezy Petes.

I can't believe that's dated August 13. Everyone and their grandmothers know that Warners has more likely than not offered Bale a ****load to come back.

Hamm, Fassbender, Brolin, Gosling for a Bale comparable performance

i'd take,fassbender over hamm,gosling and brolin

he is the only actor suggested who looks and is near henry's age and has the looks, voice, and acting chops to match bruce wayne
