and like some have already pointed out, he already has a working relationship with WB due to the Hobbit films

the guy has the look, physique, and voice of Bruce/Batman

I just hate that I'm getting really excited to see him as Batman and it's not gonna happen, the only time I got my wish was with Henry as Superman.

I was initially against Richard Armitage mainly because of his height and age (and that nose)

But, he is the best candidate I have seen so far, I support him.

Wow is all it takes to convince people that an actor is Bruce Wayne is a dark haired guy in a suit. There is better out there people why settle, hell there might be an unknown who ticks all criteria.

Armitage's resemblance to Hugh Jackman is uncanny. If he gets the role, and Snyder makes him buff up (like he did with HC), it's going to be hard to tell him apart from Jackman..

No, not just dark haired guy in suit, he has the acting ability and intensity required for the role.

She only screen tested for the role of Lois, but she didn't do it with Routh.

I believe she said she read lines with Matt Bomer though, but that was for another Superman movie, not Returns.

I've seen him act and he has more than enough gravitas and duality to portray Bruce Wayne.

I am no ageist but his also 41 by the time Superman and Batman drop he will be 43 and when the new Justice league hits 45 and so on. Just doesn't seem plausible to start a new franchise with an older guy. They should get someone in their 30,s. I think people are more swayed because if those gifs of him suited.

That's actually why I kind of like Armitage right now.

Back to Armitage, he should be screen-testing, Snyder has to be blind not to see he is fit for Bruce Wayne.

All I can say is

And Armitage looks younger than RDJ at ABOUT the same age (he'll be 43 next year, turning 42 in several days).

But this is WB, so it might be 7 or so years until JL gets off the ground.

That's what's been said but some names been thrown around suggest they don't actually know what they want. I think the rumour if an older actor stems from the fact Snyder announced this movie from that stupid quote from TDKR.
