Actually comparing with Huge jacked-man would be better, as RDJ is not required to do physical part for the role, as Iron man is all CGI.

That's what's been said but some names been thrown around suggest they don't actually know what they want. I think the rumour if an older actor stems from the fact Snyder announced this movie from that stupid quote from TDKR.

I am more of a Batman fan than a Superman fan but I will admit that taking inspiration from Frank Miller's books is a bad idea, and casting an older actor is a bad idea too as he would be able to do three movies at the most.

But isn't that the point? to cast an older Batman so that origin and solo Batman movies would be out of the way, Batman would just appear in team up movies from now on.
It makes sense WB not wanting to make new Batman solo movies after the success of Nolan's Batman.

I don't think WB is stupid enough to cast an older actor for one of their flagship franchise.

But Jackman was just over thirty at the time of X-Men, so I used the RDJ example of Marvel taking a risk on an older actor.

Sometimes I don't think fans get that every actor uses stunt doubles and that stunt doubles are just another part of movie making magic.

I think that actors are actually doing too many of their own stunts and fighting. That's why we get so much close up lousy "lets hide the actor's limitations" shakey cam fights now or days.

Batman is a great character maybe the most popular superheroes why people in here dislike Batman that much. I like Superman and Batman i like them both. Why you want to do this to Batman, Amitage looks like the Joker. I can support Amitage for others role and i will support him but not for Batman. Batman is the money maker we can't deny this.

Almost everyone in here likes Batman and Superman, that's why we are here. You don't have to like Armitage for the role, hell I don't care at all if you bash the idea but accusing people of wanting him for the role because they don't like Batman is utterly ridiculous.

I think that everybody wants the right actor for the role even the Adkins and Joe M fanboys.

I've been on these boards for 10 years, you can't tell me something that I already don't know Charlie. I truly have no idea which rumor you are referring to, maybe I skipped over or missed the rumor post about him.

All I know is that he was suggested weeks ago and here we are talking about him again. It would be super cool if you could provide a link to the rumor because I honest to god do not recall it.

Going for pretty boys in these roles has not worked out. Indeed Downey and Bale are probably the best comic-book character actors to date and they aren't pretty boys. Doesn't mean you have to cast an ugly guy, but its frustrating talent takes a second place to looks. Not just in films, but in life too.

When I was in college the first year I lived in the dorm and Friday dinners were special - THE WEEKEND - dates and all. I remember a dear, dear co-ed, Patti. She'd dress up for Friday dinner and no guy, including me, asked her out or to do something on the weekend. I came to know her better and we ended up doing things in Portland (where I went to school) on weekends. But, to this day, I feel sad when I think of her dressing up - looking for a boyfriend, and no one gave her a second look - because of her looks.

Not that a pretty boy can't be a great actor - Reeve for instance and Clooney -in his younger days. He's more rugged looking now that he has aged.

I said a few days ago that casting a pretty boy might not be a priority for them specially because Snyder is going to cast.

Here is what I said.

I find it hard to believe that Snyder will cast a pretty boy. He has a predilection for manly "alpha" actors so to say, like Butler, Cavill. So he might gravitate towards that type again for Batman.

I really don't think Snyder will look at Bloom and see his vision of Batman. We are afterall going to see Batman through Snyder's eyes. That is...

Yeah Henry Cavill already draws a female audience. Hell they even wrote in that joke about the female Army member thinking how hot he was.

The script was already finished when Cavill was cast.

He wouldn't be "cast over Bale", because Bale is not even a candidate. He values art (the Nolan vision) more than dollar bills. Will he give up his artistic integrity just for the amount of money paid?

There is as yet no evidence of no confirmation that WB wants Bale or that they have offered him money. So the question whether Bale will take the money or not does not even arise.

The entire story was bogus or fan fiction methinks.
