I'm not playing the smart guy, i'm not playing around at all. His sugestion arise after the rumor. At first a lot of people could't conceive an older batman, and people think now an older batman it's the right decision, they are changing opinion in the time of a snap, nothing to do with conviction.

But don't waste too much of your time. Honestly, it's tiresome and pointless. Like people could get so worked up about some dumb speculation is pathetic but I guess all of fanboyism is.

And lastly remember that not everybody is decent. You might assume so but sadly that is not the case, so deal with that as you see best.

I find the Wes Bentley suggestion curious to say the least. Like how did his name enter the conversation, was it some "rumor" or people actually thought of him.

Because he had his big break 14 years ago in American Beauty. And after that I saw him in a side role in Hunger Games. I, and I would imagine much of the GA, have no idea what he did in the interim of if he even did anything. Did he ever play a lead in anything? Or were there roles he did that made him suitable for Batman.

I am seriously not aware and see Bentley as a choice that might really not pan out.

There was never any doubt that people are mixing older and younger names because of that rumor. That's not a newsflash. Honestly I don't even believe that rumor until Goyer and Snyder confirm but since we don't know anything it wouldn't hurt to pretend that it could be true and fancast accordingly.

His suggestion did NOT arise AFTER any rumor regarding him. That is stone cold ****ing fact. You are straight up lying if you say otherwise.

99% of the fans of that suggestion jumped on the Bentley bandwagon after he was cast in Interstellar. That is something I called out people on because they have this delusion that Nolan is casting the Superman and Batman film when we have seen no proof that he is going to be as involved as he was with Man of Steel.

Charlie thinks that the Armitage situation is the Bently situation and it is not.

I said a few days ago that casting a pretty boy might not be a priority for them specially because Snyder is going to cast.

Here is what I said.

He undoubtedly was a pretty boy in his younger days. Undoubtedly. But time has been very kind to him. When he was cast, he looked very manly. Very handsome yes, but not pretty in the way we mean other actors to be, or atleast how I mean the actor actors to me.

Let me know if I missed anyone.

A couple of people were throwing his name around. I think Regwec and Shauner liked him at first. I actually looked him up and checked out some of his work as well, coming to the conclusion that he has potential. Others did the same. Then news broke that Bentley was cast in Interstellar and some people assumed that was the reason for the sudden interest in him as a potential candidate.

I've never seen that rumor before and if I have I am a surpremely forgetful person. I still believe his suggestion predates that rumor, I'm too lazy to check the exact date he was suggested though. Either way, I don't recall seeing that rumor, I recall seeing a suggestion on this forum. I cannot speak for anyone else though.

If you can find no mention of him on this forum before the rumor, you win. Not that there is anything wrong with people jumping on bandwagons, I jumped on and off and on and off the Cavill bandwagon years ago. I'm just a stickler for facts, you see.

Batman is a great character maybe the most popular superheroes why people in here dislike Batman that much. I like Superman and Batman i like them both. Why you want to do this to Batman, Amitage looks like the Joker. I can support Amitage for others role and i will support him but not for Batman. Batman is the money maker we can't deny this.

OMFG!!! You have just figured out a secret. I mean I have only seen him in The Hobbit so that better be apart of my liking the idea. And yes I will bring up the WB connection because that could be very important to him landing the role. I bring up actors who worked with Snyder as well. My fancasting is a mix of who I want and who might get the role because of connections to the filmmaker and studio. I've never pretended otherwise. I like what I like though. If I hate a choice I will not jump in the bandwagon because the actor is in the running for the role. I hate the Wes Bentley choice and I'm not in love with the idea of Brolin either.

But, he is the best candidate I have seen so far, I support him.

Bentley's certainly a risky prospect, but I think he's an interesting and talented actor, and I suppose I just have a hunch he might be seminal.

Armitage would also be fine, though. He's the type of actor that can bring some depth to anything, which may well prove invaluable in a movie with a script by Goyer based on an idea by Frank Miller, and directed by Snyder.

Agreed. Under those circumstances, the last thing we need is a perfunctory acting performance.
