I think some people wants armitage because he have played in the hobbit and that the Hobitt was a WB's film. They making a link with hobbit armitage and WB.

It's not just his WB connection. Some articles started mentioning him, saying he was being taken into consideration for the role by the WB bosses, that's where the idea became stronger. Could be BS though, but at least we didn't take it out of thin air. His name was being thrown into the mix.

All I know is that he was suggested weeks ago and here we are talking about him again. It would be super cool if you could provide a link to the rumor because I honest to god do not recall it.

Sure.

Every time I hear Josh Brolin's name for Batman, I get a sinking feeling. :(

If he is really chosen, I will have great difficulty in accepting him as Batman, otherwise i am keeping a fairly open mind.

I know Brolin is a good actor, but all that mess with Diane Lane made me dislike him. I really doubt they'll cast him now with Diane Lane 100% confirmed for the movie.

when did they confirm Diane Lane's name for this movie ?

I hope Brolin is out.

When they announced the movie at comic con, they said Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne were confirmed to return.

just a thought here, dnt shoot me, but tom hardy? he could work for bruce or Lex I think.
no one saw his face in rises anyway so that doesnt matter.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next few months.
It would almost be fun if it wasnt maddening as hell.

I know. whomever is cast is gonna upset some.

Well, personally, the only way I can be upset is if they cast Joe Manganiello.
I'll accept anyone else to be honest.
My favorite: Superman, is already cast well. :p

Same. I think he could be a good Batman, but I REALLY think he looks too old and not "attractive" enough in comparison to Cavill.

eh, i see him more as a hal jordan.
He can obviously play that, I suppose he will sort of be playing something like that in GOTG. But even to my surprise he can be badass as well. He looked hell of a badass in the leaked GOTG trailer.

He's been suggested before but thought I'd bring his name up again for discussion.

Andrew Lincoln (39 years old, 5'10)

For 3 years now, he's been the star of The Walking Dead. Bruce Wayne would look so different from his character Rick Grimes. I know it's hard for people to picture him other than anyone but Rick, but I think he's a great actor who can do it all, action, drama, brooding or charismatic.

He would be nearly impossible to get due to his Walking Dead commitments, but if a miracle happens and they could, he's a star with a huge fan following already. He's just the right age for an older Batman/Bruce, and would play well opposite Henry Cavill or Amy Adams.

Would love to see Andy get it.

I really like how that drawing differentiates Bruce and Clark. I've never been a big fan of them being drawn as doppelgangers. In contrast, although highly stylized, I think their respective facial features in that image really captures their different personalities. Bruce's sharper nose and features look more brooding and gothic and patrician, whereas Clark looks wholesome and rugged. Moreover, I like the idea of Bats looking more slim and agile in comparison to Clark's brickhouse strapping farmboy build.

My feeling is similar as well, if they don't pick someone I will be okay with I always have Henry to look forward to.

I agree actually. I don't think that the actor who portrays Batman has to have huge muscles. I want him fit and cut because I enjoy looking at fit and cut dudes in movies but he doesn't have to look huge or anything.

I've liked him for Lex since before TDKR. Possibly even before Inception.

I don't think the nose of Richard Armitage is going to be a bad thing, it will actually be great for Batman. They can have a Batman with really sharp features on his cowl/mask.

On a purely superficial note, Armitage's more angular face would definitely work well as a contrast to Cavill's square one.

Brolin on the other hand looks more like a father than a partner to Cavill when you put them side by side, which is not the kind of dynamic I'd personally want to see in the movie.

I guess Richard could get a nose job like 90% of actors in Hollywood. :oldrazz:

Richard Armitage is starring in New Lines Tornado flick Black Sky and he does an American Accent.

yeah i agree. i love that concept art. and bruce was apparently inspired in part by bale. before cavill was cast, i wanted armie hammer for the role for the very reason. i love cavill though.
