All the time I hear alot of people saying they generally like Forever. I agree. I love it. Now it's not perfect and when I first saw it I cringed at alot, but I also liked some of the changes aswell.

It felt like it opened up a bit more. I was happy to finally see Robin brought to the big screen.

Now as for the neon, and Two-Face over doing it at times, I don't like that but it's still fun.

It is no where near as bad as B&R.

It's more so a tribute to the 50's comics in a way, and Dick Sprang's giant furniture type stuff.

Yet it delved into Bruce's psyche in a way that hadn't been done before.

But, all in all Batman Forever isn't a bad Batman movie, and at the time it was a huge spectacle and a big Summer Blockbuster.

I really love this movie to be honest. Just too bad another director couldn't be brought in for part 4.

I think if they would've cleaned up a few things the movies would've continued. for awhile there I thought they'd be the next James Bond franchise, they'd keep going with new cast members and new directors.

Hopefully that'll happen this time. Just keep going, and maybe new directors who aren't afraid to delve into more of the fantasy side of the Batman mythos, not campy, just be more faithful, 'cause Nolan seems to think to be more faithful is campy, well that's wrong and stupid.

Maybe a new director can bring back Ra's and have the Lazarus pits, and maybe have Mr. Freeze, with the cool way he was done in the animated series.

I think four should've had a new director and been done with just Freeze like that, in 5 Scarecrow with Tim Burton returning, I know he wouldn't have but it's my fantasy, and Jeff Goldblum playing The Scarecrow. 6 would have Bane, and by that time The Rock would have been famous enough to play him, I think he'd be good at it.

Millions of non-basement-dwellers who have lives will agree with you. BF was Not bad.

The problem is that people are simply judging Forever on the changes it makes to the previous movies and (their conceptions of) the comics.

Judge it simply as a movie on it's own merits.

Batman Forever, not bad.

......not Good, either. Especially from the standpoint of everything.

You shouldn't forget Jim Carrey's fantastic performance in 'Batman Forever'!

Who liked Nicole Kidman? I hought she was hot in the movie.

I've seen many people say that Kidman is far sexier and alluring in Forever than she is in any other of her movies, and I'd have to agree. Beyond that, I thought she was very good as Chase Meridian; in the superhero girlfriend stakes, I rank her above the likes of Kirsten Dunst and Rachel Holmes.

^^^katie holmes. but yeah, kidman was smokin in BF.

I liked the first half of BF. It was soooo much like the comic. It was the second half of the movie that, to me, became too much like the old tv show.

Can you qualify that statement? Batman comics have varied widely from incredibly dark and sober to extremely silly and bright (even though many posters seem to think Batman began in 1986 with Frank Miller).

True. The rest of the cast looks a little dozed. Carrey was remarkably energetic and creative.

Forever has many virtues, but many vices. Two face was poorly concieved and the nature of the Riddler seemed to lightly skim over the acutal riddle element.

Bruce wayne was portrayed wonderfully though, and whilst the final showdown really brought the overall tone down, we had a convincing batman and some nice elements. Not up to the standards of B89 and BR, but much better than BnR and not too disimilar in quality from BB.

Batman Forever is, for me, the closest thing to the "comic-book-Batman" that I grew up with (1970's). It did have some cringeworthy moments but nicely captured the more colorful, action hero element I like. Begins gave us the grittiest, most realistic Bats yet, but I still say there's room for both. After Nolan finishes up his trilogy, I'd like to see someone like Raimi take the reins and do something in more of a BF vibe/look.

Not sure I understand... But anyways, IMO it wasn't bad it was just... meh. No big moments, nothing to make you go back and watch the movie again for.

Hey CapBeerCino, haven't seen you in a while :). Anyways, It's not a bad film. I love Batman Forever I think its awesome and really entertaining. I always get upset when it is lumped in with Batman & Robin. Batman Forever is a way darker film than that and the two shouldn't be seen as the same (campy, nipples, neon) while BF did have that it was to a lesser extent than B&R (atleast I think so).

Hi! :hyper:

I need to watch BF again... I can't remember a thing! :ninja:

I agree, she was just so hot!

A bank heist with a crane....that's all I'm gonna say. Wait, I have one more thing: guns with neon...And can someone kindly point out the "dark" in this movie?

Why? You seem completely set in your views to such an extent that expressing what's dark in batman forever would be pointless but here it goes:

The parts of the film that actually don't suck are dark.

Bruce arguing with Robin is dark. the whole robin part is actually dark and pretty convincing way to introduce him. "trust me, killing two face won't make the pain go away." good stuff. Bruce's memories of his past are better than anything I've seein in batman begins that's similar, they're better shot, have better music, and are just beautiful, and there was no constant "fear" and "don't be afraid". Because as silly as it might be to say in retrospect now with batman and robin in existence, Schumacher knew what the word subtlety meant. In forever we learn why bruce became batman instead of frogman. He fell in a batcave, viewed it as a sign of what he was meant to become. None of that strike fear and symbolism junk since who's afraid of a guy in a holloween costume? REMEMBER THAT BATMAN FOREVER INVENTED THE "BRUCE FALLS INTO A BATCAVE" THING.

I mean, casual fans. Not people who eat and sleep and **** batman comics like it was their religion.

Well said.

Despite BF usually being paired up with Schumacher's B&R, BF is by far a much more darker film than the overly kid friendly, and toy-etic B&R unfortunately was revealed to be.
