would batman be suited in a horror film?????
for example: Batman vs Jason etc....
any ideas/comments?????

Why'd it have to be a typical "Versus" film? I wouldn't mind that though. Would make a fun Elseworlds tale. How about a movie seen from the perspective of the criminals? In Begins there was some half-horror going on during the container scene, so it could work. Problem is, we know Batman is a good guy. We won't be scared of him, we'd just cheer him on.

maybe jason vorees or micheal myers come to gotham and start killing people leading to un ultimate showdown?????
will never happen but sounds fun!!!!!

Or... Batman.

IN SPACE.

Given how much Batman is supposed to be relying on fear as a weapon, there is something wrong if he cannot be used convincingly as a horror act. We have certainly seen him dark enough that he would be frightening as a villain. As Beelze says, the Vs idea will probably only take away from any horror element. Vs films are rarely scary.

Well there was a crossover comic between Batman and Predator so that can count him in a horror genre

I'd say the Batman/Dracula trilogy is firmly planted in the horror genre.

I think it could be if was like fan-made movie..

Interesting thread.....the first horror icon that came to mind was Michael Myers. But I thought that the character of Jigsaw from the Saw films would be perfect. Batman would have to use his detective skills as opposed to pure muscle to take attempt to take someone like Jason or Michael Myers down.

^ Jigsaw would probably fit into Bats' rogue's gallary very nicely because the character is crazy but hightly intelligent. Which is much like most of Batman's enemies.

As for other horror icons. It could work. I've always so the Batman comics as a cross between the detective mystery and thriller suspense novels. In fact I am sure there are some writers who could take the character and transplant him into a novel where general readership is and the Dark Night would fit. But given the fact that Bat's is more of hard-nosed detective then a ghostbustering demon hunter I think characters like Jason, Mike Meyers, and Freddy just don't work as well.

I would buy a comic like that...

If someone did do a Batman horror story, it woud have to feature Solomon Grundy as the villian.

Batman: Gothic seemed appropriately along those lines. A mystery with a shadowy, supernatural killer. Unfortunately, Gothic wasn't a very good story. Something similar could work.

I wouldn't mind seeing Batman against supernatural villians The Monk and Dala ( early 1939 villians), Solomon Grundy, and Batman vs. Man- Bat would be awesome to see as Man- Bat is kind of a Jekyll/ Hyde horror type. Nocturna could be good if done right somewhat. Anthony Romulus/ werewolf might be good somewhat.
Theseis about close I can think of as far as "horror" type villians.

Batman VS. Leatherface
I think that would be awesome!
Batman could hear about him on the news, and he and Nightwing could go to Texas to investigate, where they face him.
It'd be cool to see Batman VS. Micheal Myers too.
