can anyone please tell me how many different batman novels and what they are called, not meaning graphic novels, but book novels. the only one i found is batman: inferno at my bookstore, thanx.

off the top of my head, i have the "knightfall" novelization, one called "the batman murders", and "the greatest adventures of batman" or "batman's greatest stories" or something like that (a collection of short stories)

Greg Rucka also did a "No Man's Land" novelization.

I have a really old book celebrating 50 years of Batman, which collects 14 Batman stories. It's called The Further Adventures of Batman. I haven't read it for a long time, but one story stuck out involving the Joker and a woman he made his mime.

Batman: Fear Itself is the only one I own. Quite good.

that's the one i was talking about, and i have volume 2 as well.

KNIGHTFALL is really good. Also there was a Batman novel in that Justice League novel series. I forget the name, but it had an Alex Ross cover.

Theres "the further adventures of batman" which is 14 short storys written by guys like Issac Asimov, Max Allan Collins, Stuart Kaminsky. There was also a similer book relaesed all about the Joker.

These were realesed in '89 as a part of the batman craze at the time.

I enjoyed Batman: The Ultimate Evil by Andrew Vachss. No supervillains, it's basically just Batman vs child molesters...

If you want to read two fantastic Batman novels, you need to read:

Batman: Knightfall and the Batman Begins novelization, both by the master Batman writer, Dennis O'Neil.

You won't find better prose Batman stories.

Both are easy to find and cheap on Amazon or most used book stores.

The two that came out most recently were "Dead White" (basically involving Batman vs. a white supremacist terrorist group) and "Inferno" (Batman vs. a new villain named Enfer while The Joker's framing Batman by wearing the suit).

Inferno was kinda "meh," but Dead White was damn good. I highly recommend it.

I read No Man's Land a few years back. I really liked the little things that Rucka did with humanizing the character.
At one point Batman has to become Bruce Wayne and it's the little nuances like making his voice be not as gruff, a different type of walk, etc...
The other one I remember really liking was Batman's internal monologue about wearing the costume out in the daylight and how he wasn't used to it.

I own No Man's Land, Knightfall and The Further Adventures of Batman.

Honestly i think Rucka wrote the best Batman novel as of yet.
