Okay, not sure if this has been addressed.
But does anyone see problems with Batman fighting in the day in a massive crowd?

I thought the whole point of Batman was he was a ninja, who uses stealth, and tries to keep himself concealed.

Wouldn't fighting in a massive crowd in broad daylight be defeating the whole purpose of batman? He is fighting in snow and is in ALL BLACK, which means he can EASILY be seen.

Just need someone to explain how this works...

cheers

They're probably going to simply manipulate the scene after the fact to make it take place at night.

None... Batman can kick ass 24/7.

Rain, snow, or shine.

either they'll make it night time in post production, or something really really bad is happening forcing batman to come out and play during the day.

How about the fact that Gotham is on the verge of being destroyed?

He's got to come out and fight Bane. Bane is likely challenging him in that scene to come out and fight, knowing it wouldn't be ideal for him. Also, we're still not sure if that scene will be during the day or at night.

Personally, I think it'd be badass for it to be happening at dusk or dawn... where there's a little bit of light and gusts of wind with intense snowfall.

If they're not changing it post-production, my bet is that there was a fight or a hunt that took all night and lasted into the day. Or, maybe, as said, Bane decided to see if he would come out in the daytime. I doubt Bats is gonna say, "Listen, I don't do day, so I'm gonna let you wreak havoc, and I'll see you after sunset."

Seriously. Is it really so hard to believe that batman *gasp* will fight during the day? We have tumblers with f'ong rocket launchers and mercies with automatic weapons running around. "ok boys you have ten hours of daylight to destroy, rape, and pillage my city, but as soon as sundown comes, this city's mine". This thread and the bane thread show total lack of open mindedness and creativity.

I do kind of like the idea of Bane trying to exploit Bruce's reluctance to come out in costume during the day.

I can see how it would work; the final shots will probably have a cold, somewhat colorless tone to them (not black and white, but certainly not vibrant; something like we've seen in other films where they use the color scheme to make things "feel" or "look" cold), and Batman's greyish costume would fit in with that fairly well, I think, if you do it right.

But it still wouldn't shock me if they make it take place at night.

The way I look at it is, they briefly touched on the day issue in the TDK, "In the middle of the day alfred not very subtle," so it's not like Nolan's just saying f it batman fights during the day. There's an obvious reason, I'm guessing stuff is so bad, he has no choice. It's war.

So if there's a crime during the day then Batman has to wait to deal with it until night time? I guess that's why he didn't bother to stop the bank robbery in TDK. Like others in this thread have said he has no choice in TDKR. He'll go where he's needed.

He's not a vampire. Yes he uses stealth and the darkness to his advantage, but the main reason he's Batman is to protect his city at all costs. He's not going to see all that destruction going on, see that it's 2pm and go "Dangit! Why couldn't it be 2am?? Oh well. They're screwed now. Let's see what's on 'People's Court' now." :)

That may be what Bane is trying to do. Batman hasn't been around in awhile, Bane wants a piece of him, he commits crimes Batman can't ignore, and draws him out in the day; out of his element and exposed.

Maybe... just maybe. Bats will become something MOAR. Maybe he'll become... DAYMAN.

Day Man
Uhh ahhahh!!!

Fighter of the Night man
Uhh ahhahh!!!

He uses the darkness to his advantage, that doesn't mean it's the only way he can fight.

As for "explaining how this works", I doubt we'll be able to do that until we watch the movie and find out wth is happening in that scene, but my speculation at this point is that Bane is stirring up some major **** and Batman is forced into action during the day. Bane might even be drawing him out.

Okay guys, I get that argument of villains just choosing to cause havoc in the day when they know batman does not come out.

But guys...this is a MOVIE. Batman as a character is VERY unrealistic, it's fantasy, it's fiction. It's why we love it. If it was ultra-real, it destroys the fun of it.

When I think Batman, I think bats, I think darkness, i think stealth...so i just assume that Gotham is a dark city, where evil occurs at night. Just seeing a guy dressed as bat in daylight....just looks stupid. Looking at the footage, yes it's raw, but I just don't know if I can look at it with a serious face. Because there is a guy dressed as a bat fighting in daylight. Image-wise, it just looks odd. It's like the Adam West, bless him, days. It was cool but we all laugh at the fact of a guy dressed as a bat fighting in the day and drinking milk.

So unless this is turned into night, or made to be very blurry....i just don't know how i can't help but relate it to Adam West

you're really going to relate this to adam west?

I think we were all waiting for some Adam West reference.

Why not?
Last time I saw Batman fight in the day in moving images was...the Adam West cartoon.

Unless Clooney did so in Batman and Robin...

Batman fighting in the day does not look stupid or corny. I don't see the connection to that reaction at all.

good question. my only guess would be that maybe that that is the only scene and with all the fighting going on, no one notices them and then they take the battle inside.

The white background/black text title screen in the trailer might have actually been a hint that something like batman having to fight in the light of day would happen...for bruce to not just face his fears but to conquer them once and for all

Wow, you are the only guy who sees the validity of my question.

I mean yeah, perhaps its quite quick, and with the confusion of the snow and people, Batman is a blur to them and even Bane.
