Mods closed the last thread because I mentioned comics, but to reiterate, this is not just pertaining to the comics but the movie.
I just want to put out the problem of having the notion of Batman retiring in two points.
The Begins Ending:
Gordon tells Batman that his existence has brought about freaks like himself like the Joker. Now, surely, by Batman taking down the Joker after Joker doing all that crazy stuff...this would certainly get other psychos in Arkham or on the streets interested and wanting to emulate Joker and be even MORE theatrical than him. Should batman not know that and realize he just can't quit and leave it to the police who WON'T be able to stop a psychotic and ambitious criminal?
Bruce's Parents:
I don't think anyone can ever get over their parents getting killed...AT THAT AGE. I heard some guys say that this is a TAKE, and this is just what Nolan has put out there. But taking it as is, in and of itself...can Bruce just be happy just living his life normally and putting the trust in the police force, knowing that he cannot be out there himself stopping crime?
I viewed it from Begins, Bruce being Batman as being therapeutic. It fights the pain of his loss as he is doing something to ensure it does not happen to another kid. By wanting or even CONSIDERING retiring....I just ask myself...what will he do all day?
Would like to hear thoughts on this.
