BvS Batman/Superman Pushed Back to 2016 - Part 1

The movie has big, big flaws. Don't blame the critics.
Good for you  you're right as MOST OF critics were :whatever: some confuse flaws with not seeing smth they wanted/expectations.

It's fine for you to enjoy the film. You can't tell others why they didn't.

They could just as easily say you have bad taste.

I can say the same and also that some didn't catch some things of the movie and automatically call it flaws. One thing is they didn't like the film which I totally respect and other is claiming flaws as nosensical and childish desires which another and different thing and trying to convince people of it which is totally nosense. But anyways this topic is older that became boring and as you can see this is not a bashing thread, its a topic of Bats/supes delayed to 2016. so.... :cwink:

Or y'know, people have differing opinions, and what you think is good, others see as flaws.

While you acknowledge The Man of Steel is very problematic, you still have an avatar about it :cwink:
Say I think an image from Transformers is well composed and striking.

Naturally I think it is the greatest film ever made and my favorite movie of all time.

A very obvious conclusion that.

That, and a slogan that says "The Non-Judge-mentalist" :o:oldrazz:

I can remember reading one posts of Slumcat's that had anything good to say about the film. In fact, every post that I've seen is dedicated to point out one of its faults or to report when other people or organizations criticize it.
Ah well, it is a mercy I judge movies and not people. The latter would be truly despicable and irredeemable. But like my signature says, not everybody is decent.

Exactly. The main criticisms I read were utterly stupid. Basically comparing it to the original Donner film and wondering why it wasn't more like that film and saying it lacked humor.

Stupid, but whatever.

We shouldn't go back and talk about something and debate about it with the haters for the 200th time or whatever time it will be on these forums.

I can see your guys Marvel boy Feige now. Thinking...

"How am I gonna take it to DC on May 6th...man oh man I want to release a film on that date which is mine....but I can't develop a big enough Marvel that fast. Can't do Avengers 3 and IM 4 is out of the question because the last IM4 is out of the question unless I throw in my Marvel wench Black Widow I that film and maybe also throw in Hulk?" Damn, maybe I can still get out a Dr Strange film and throw in IM and Thor into his movie to try and attract more of the general movie audience? Damn....only if we can write a film good enough that will attract Depp to be my Strange than maybe I can actually take that May 6th release date back. Damn..those little WB's/DC f******s! They beat to it...I wasn't sure what film I wanted to get that May 6th slot........damn it. I will show them...."

Silly Feige....

Man Steel wasn't perfect and some people do have good reasons for not liking the films but then there are some people who hate anything not Donner Superman and are very vocal about that the same way years ago people complained Burton's 89 Batman wasn't like the camp 60's version they grew up with. Judge the film on its own merits.

It is a spy heist superhero hybrid movie with large action set pieces and a tone similar to the first Iron Man film according to the director.

Test footage from the Marvel Universe Phase DVD glimpse looked pretty cool. On the surface the character sounds pretty goofy if they manage to make something interesting out of it they might actually make a good bit of money at the box office.

Meh....pass!

The news is good and bad. I'm assuming the wait is one of the biggest cons, but in this case I believe the pros outweigh them. Smart move, IMO. Now we wait.

The Pros of changing the release date FAR outweigh the Cons. The Con is that fanboys and fangirls need to wait a little longer to see the final product on the big screen. Which isn't really Con.

It is what it is.

Wonder Woman AND Batman both have a lot of bulking time.

Exactly. I listed all the Positives/Pros of the release date push back and filming being pushed back to April/May last week in here. One of the many Pros I listed was for actors to be given more time to get in top shape. Especially Affleck and Gadot.

Or y'know, people have differing opinions, and what you think is good, others see as flaws.
you said it yourself OPINIONS that of course are totally respected. Each one, each tastes. I guess that's what makes the world go round. :cwink:

So people are correct in saying they find the film has too many flaws.
I don't know. I guess is more accurate to say some didn't like it according to his expectations/tastes and some of them confusing with having flaws. The true is the movie has flaws that's no doubt (as all the movies) but not all the ones that are saying neither some that just because some things didn't occur as they wanted.

From Deadline.

There has been a change in plans for Fox’s high profile drama project The Middle Man, which has a pilot order and has been on track to series under Fox’s new development model. Oscar winner Ben Affleck, who was set to helm in his pilot directing debut, had to pull out because of scheduling issues with Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman movie, in which Affleck plays Batman. While Warner Bros. recently pushed the release date for the movie from 2015 to 2016, word is that production is not being delayed and the main players have been summoned to start work right away. Additionally, I hear Affleck has other film commitments in the spring, when The Middle Man pilot is scheduled to shoot. Casting on Middle Man had been well under way with auditions already scheduled. That now has been put on hold until Fox brass figure out a course of action.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Unless I'm missing something this almost confirms filming back to back movies.

Of course, if this is true

A bit of a generalization but it definitely is a considerable dilemma, especially where the GA is concerned. The big blue boy scout really wasn't going to be making TDK level money(especially domestically). However, everyone and their mother can tell you that superman 'needs' to be...that. Or rather what they think superman should be.

The first film was destined to be a sorta sacrificial lamb. That's just the way the trepid but needing of change, audience works these days. A blond short and stout bond needed to gain their trust given the preconceptions. Same deal here, the sequel's reception will be telling. It's box office is all but certain.

I still maintain the problem was not about peoples perceptions of Superman, it was straight up the film itself being broken which caused the reaction it got. Perceptions played a part but a good film maker can counter that by producing a movie with solid foundation and good execution, and the shear fact the reaction to MoS is fairly black and white means the film had neither. I honestly don't know what people are expecting to change in the sequel given who's involved behind the cameras.

I'm glad WB's snatched that coveted May 6th slot in 2016 away from Marvel. I hope Disney/Marvel tries to release their solo Dr Strange film on the same day as Batman vs Superman. Even if a miracle happens and they get Depp...they will be destroyed. Especially if The Rock does come on board the BvsS and JL films.

I see WB as forcing Disney's hand, and they're pushing back in kind. WB knows the May 2016 MCU film isn't going to be a huge juggernaut like The Avengers was, and they're positing BvS as the 2016 juggernaut. Marvel/Disney's like, "Okay, if you want that May 2016 spot -- we'll open Ant-Man same day as Pan!"

Keep in mind Alan Horn used to work at WB (and he had say over the release dates with Jeff Robinov)... Disney has him now. I wouldn't be surprised if he okayed the decision to move it up to mid-July.
