BvS Batman/Superman Pushed Back to 2016 - Part 1

I want that damn picture of Affleck as Batman. We know for a fact that Snyder has it.

^ I'd prefer to hear an audio clip. "I'm the worst nightmare you've ever had. One that woke you from your sleep and made you scream for your mother."

If he nails that line, I'm sold :wow:

That's only for test/internal purposes. When they have official promo images they'll get them out.

Nah, screw that. If it's enough to get Kevin Smith excited, it's enough for me. You asked what was wanted and that's what I want.

The ironic thing is WB knows they have to reveal absolutely nothing about this movie and the fanbases who are hungry for news will still talk about it ad nauseum. Revealing images/footage/anything would be to boost GA awareness, the fans ain't going anywhere. It's one of those few times following a production every step of the way is detrimental to wish fulfillment

If that line is even in the movie.....

Yeah, sucks when you're a fan but WB isn't losing anything at all in this. The GA will naturally fall in line when WB decides to release something, but we, the fans, will be following this movie regardless.

What are you talking about? If it was a promo pic with both or either, then it will come out when the department deems it time to do so. If it wasn't then it was a test or early internal pic whether Supes is in it or not.

I want to sleep with Gal Gadot. Sit tight and crack open a cold one. ;)

The way KS talked about the shot...with Bat-Ben in the fore ground and Super-cavil in the back hovering...on a rooftop set leads me to believe it's an early promo pic and not a test pic.
Generally you don't shoot on a set with other elements when doing a test pic.

Bingo. Hence why they don't care at all about the constant whirlwind of rumors that people report. It's in the news. It keeps fans talking. Has nothing to do with the GA (where the real, longterm money is)

Depends on the movie. They did it for IM1 and 2 as well as Constantine, Jonah Hex and Cap 1. Those are the only ones I know for sure but it's realistic to think they'd do it with others.

And when you really think about it, the "set" could be 100% CGI

I'm willing to bet the picture was something like this.

Yeah, the description fits those pictures.

You can tell that WB is going with the, "Any publicity is good publicity." motto for this.

Y'know when they do tests...they do several...and even when one of them is decided upon, it's still a test pic. Are you sure that that both Cavill and Affleck were there for these photos together for that purpose? They use photoshop too, yknow? :O

yes they do several. however a test pic is to determine how the suit looks on camera...you don't put them on sets or have other elements in the pic because the purpose of that pic is to make sure it looks good in camera. You don't want anything to take attention away from or to cover up any design flaws or aesthetic flaws that need to be fixed.

They also do test pics on real/CG sets to see how the character looks in different environments (lighting, shadow, composition). It's not uncommon especially in a big genre movie

*sigh* Once again.....they have photoshop too. And yes, you often do construct other elements along with test photos to make your final decisions. It happens a lot on films that aren't even as effects laden as this one. You're reading too much into it.

I am not reading too much into it. I know what camera test shots are.

Yeah but you don't know what THIS 'Kevin Smith' photo is exactly, and you're somehow ignoring what it likely is in the scheme of millions of other movies that happen every year. Sure, it could be the equivalent of the first Routh Superman pic and eventually come out (and hopefully it is), but don't be surprised if it isn't and no-one else ever sees it except for it leaking way down the line after the official promo pics have been taken and come out. True, you're not reading too far into it...because you're not reading enough. ;)

You are right I don't know what KS saw. I am only making a guess based on what he saw.

If that pic (or others in the same series they took) looks phenomenal, they'll release it. Eventually. Be it soon, during production, or with a cross-promotional item like the Blu-ray or art book. WB isn't in the business of wasting money. If that image/similar images wows everyone they'll incorporate it in their marketing campaign

Oh I trust you. I've been in this biz long enough to know how pre-pro works. But like I said, we don't know. Some test shots come out better than they expected. And only then do they consider using them. Otherwise, no

Snyder does have a history with leaking test shots...anything is possible.
