The Dark Knight batman to be filmed in Liverpool?

reports have come in about the dark knight being shot at the water front of Liverpool. What do you think about that?

Makes sense since we know Nolan's Gotham sits on the ocean

It also mentions that they might film somewhere in Yorkshire, i wonder where??

I read that they haven't picked a location yet. But they have sent people to scout locations, one of which is Liverpool. Apperently Nolan is supposed to come and see the suggested locations at the end of the month.

I hope they do shoot it in Liverpool, though it will mean I'll spending less time at uni and more time hanging around by the set hoping for a glimpse of Ledger's Joker.

It's pretty ideal for Gotham. The alleys and streets are perfect.

With the 200 mil theyre getting why dont they just build gotham?

Well they've got a hell of a lot of Gotham in Shepperton, but even though it's a large set, it's not THAT large, and a city has many different areas. We saw part of the docks in Begins, and an actual building stood in for Arkham Asylum; Chicago gave us Wayne Tower and a lot of streets, including the car chase.

In TDK you'd hope to see more parts of Gotham, and Liverpool does seem to have a good look for Nolan's Gotham. I like the sound of Glasgow, too. I think location shoots are always best because there is areal atmosphere in a location shoot, it's actually outdoors, everything is real. And, as with Begins, I've no doubt that any real locations used for Gotham will be digitally altered in some way to become, well, Gotham.

The trouble with Chicago is that it, like London, once burned to ashes, and a lot of the oldest parts of the city are no longer in existance. Gotham is supposed to be quite old, and these European cities like Glasgow have those old beautiful buildings. I love the idea of shooting the movie in various cities around the world (Glasgow, Liverpool, Chicago, New York) and blending it all in the computer to make Gotham.
