So I just finished reading a book I picked up a few weeks ago. Batman: Turning Points. I'm not sure how old it is but I'd never seen it on a shelf before and I was in the mood to read a good story. I picked it up thinking it would be decent and I was pleasantly suprised. I thought it was a really great story told over several years describing the changing relationship of Jim Gordon and Batman.

I think stories like that are the meat and potatoes of comics. Stories that talk about relationships especially between well known characters. So I was wondering about other books that feature Batman's relationship with supporting characters. Are there any that you know of that I don't know of? If there aren't, who would you like to see featured?

I really liked Turning Points, especially the first and final issues. It'd be fantastic if more books focused on character dynamics and relationships instead of gimmicky-tasting "epic, earth shattering" plots and so on, though I gotta say I liked how Dini was handling Bruce and Zatanna in Detective recently.

i was actually gonna buy it, but is the quantity worth the price?
it's only like 128 pages & it's like $18.00

IS IT ABSOLUTELY GREAT or not essential IN YOUR OPINION?

It wasn't essential in my opinion, but I still say it was great read. If you don't have any other books in mind to get, get this one.

You might have better luck picking up the individual issues, I managed to get 'em for about $6 altogether.

Check out the new Detective Comics arc "Heart Of Hush".

Hush is the main character and it shows his relationship with Bruce Wayne since he was a child. It's pretty brutal too, especially the new issue.
