who comes out on top and why?
thought I'd start a thread I guess this could go in the box office thread but I thought it would be nice to see people views on who will come out on top.

Batman
one of the most iconic heroes on the planet. fantastic first (5th?) movie.

Iron man
brand new francise, not that well known. fantastic cast.

Hulk
first movie wasn't well recieved, reboot promises to be action packed

put batman bias to one side and give honest opinions please

well as long as green day is blasting through the speakers during the movie to make the trendy people happy whats it matter? *sarcasm*

I have very, very high hopes for the Iron Man movie, i'll say that. Not one bad thing has come out of that production in my eyes. All news, pictures, casting, etc has been perfect in my eyes.

Incredible Hulk.. i'm not sure. I like most of the cast, but I'm just not sure what to expect from this one. I really did not like the first one, but this one's supposed to be a reboot or something. It could go either way.

As for TDK, well I can already tell it's gonna be awesome. I have a few gripes, but i'm sure Nolan has a damn good enough story to overcompensate for a crappy Joker look and a silly bat-pod. I'm also torn between really liking the EW pic of the new costume, and really, really hating the action figure we saw, even if the coloring is fixed.

I think in terms of box office success, Batman has it hands down. As for quality of film, still probably Batman, with Iron Man coming really close. Seriously, that movie's gonna blow people away.

Batman. The only one that can kick Batman's behind handily from Marvel is Spider-Man. Man, what a crashdown on that Franchise on the last movie (in terms of quality, not money receipt).

Iron Man is gonna mesmerized people with the action and the SFX though. Hulk's the second. Nolan's Batman, not relying too much on whizbangs, will be third.

Money Receipt: Batman > Hulk > Iron Man (if it's not marketed agressively)
Action: Iron Man > Hulk > Batman.
Quality: Batman > Iron Man > Hulk

Gotta be the director and Hulk himself. Hulk story is all about smash this, smash that because that's his power. Less finesse, all brainless combat.

Iron Man on the other hand is equal to Batman in terms of problem solving (well less in terms of Holmesian logic, but more in terms of Einsteinian math-engineering). Cool toys tinted in Red and Gold, lasers, women, corporate resources. Make a heck of back story.

I think Iron Man's gonna be a great movie but it'll struggle to find a decent audience. It's really gonna depend on the DVD's.

too early to say anything with The Incredible Hulk.

however Iron Man is coming in strong. very strong.

i think i'll wait a few more months to say anything about the competition among the films. heck TDK has just started filming.

Iron Man and Hulk will both make around 120m-150m (Hulk really is a wild card though, it could end up barely hitting 100m)

Theres only two films that will outgross Dark Knight next summer and thats Wall-E (pixar film) and the next Narnia film. Dark Knight and Indy will probably battle it out for the 3rd spot (but any of these 4 films can come out on top, the children films are more likely to though)

The first hulk failed horrible

so just like Batman and robin hurt Batman beings a bit... the first hulk might hurt the new hulk

Iron Man....... while i feel this might be a good movire i have feeling its gonnn have a hard time finding audiunces that are not die hard iron man fans

i feel that Batman will come on top because while it might not be as action pack and epic as the other two it will be a better movie i feel...plkus the first movie got a **** load of buzz and this should spread to the sequel

All three movies have GREAT casts, but I´ll support The Dark Knight all the way. I´m fairly certain it will be the best movie, and the audience should and will acknowledge(sp?) that.

hulk is a reboot so could go either way but I think iron man will push batman HARD at the box office it has loads going for it and 'may' appeal to a wider audience.

Batman may come out on the top, the other movies are pretty new, iron man hasn't been done... Hulk is anyone's guess..the first movie should be an indicator of well it may do..the general public are not going to know its a reboot.

We shall see..it has a good cast. i only hope the effects team can pull of the Hulk as well as ILM did. The Hulks look is going to either make it or break it.

IMO

The way things are going, TDK should be the best film, and if marketed right should have the best box-office. I'd be worried about Hulk, but having Norton in there really piques my interest, I absolutely love the guy.
Iron Man. An unknown quantity for me, I do not know the character at all. It will greatly depend on what the buzz is like and what the reviews say, but it ceratinly has a good buzz so far.

Iron Man SFX is made by ILM. ILM doing the incredible hulk is a possibility

1. batman-will have the biggest opening weekend of 2008 and should do roughly 300 million

2. iron man-i defiently see this breaking out; id say 55/170 million

3. hulk-again first was such a downer; i say 39/105;maybe more if its good.

One thing comes to mind Tony Stark (Iron Man's alter ego) is Marvel's Bruce Wayne. Rich, smart billionaire CEOs that use costumes to be superheroes. The difference is Bruce dates eurotrashes to disguise his real personality. Tony on the other hand is a real playboy, enjoy liquors and fame. Batman is more local and detective-minded. Iron Man is a global police and never uses technology sparingly.

Both are destined to be sad loners.

I want to dislike Iron Man, I really do. I do, I do, I do.

But I can't goddamn it. Everything sounds great so far :(

It won't make Batman numbers - but thats fair because Iron Man isn't on the level of Batman anyway.

Hulk will probably be absolute ****, so I have no strong feelings on it. Sure - they have Edward Norton, but that would be much more interesting if I didn't feel as if Marvel is going to take away a lot of depth in the movie in exchange for high flying action - after all, that is what did in the first Hulk which though great, turned off audiences.

But there is a balance that can be struck between plot, characterisation and action. Spidey 1 and 2, X-Men 2, Batman Begins and (for me) Superman Returns all did this better than Hulk. It can be done, it's a question of what the script is like and, probably, whether the producers interfere as much as they did in SM3.

Man don´t forget that X-Man and FF already kicked Batmans Ass Box-Office wise.

Yeah but after Batman and Robin could you blame it for being kicked?

Now that begins has laid that demon to rest, The dark knight will more than likely go back to the top of the list..behind spidey of cause.
