I thought of what you said when I saw it, near that moment, anticipating the moment killed the laughs.

BvS is one of those movies that you need to turn your brain off. Brush off the bad and just let the dreariness drench you in.

 

I was very angry at the fan community because I loved it and most of them didn't. I acused them of being ungrateful and not fans which I was completely wrong to say or even think that. I was just speaking out of hurt from what I was witnessing from the fans.I was wrong. I just happen to be a in a very lucky situation where I love these tones and dark themes and both of these dcu films from Zac Snyder but it doesn't feel great to witness lots of other fans hurting. It doesn't make you strange or weird because some love or hated something that others have opposite feelings about. We should just unite as fans and try to get at least something positive for the fans that don't like these films. Maybe look forward to the ultimate cut. Don't know. Its just upsetting to see.

 

Everyone should be united be it they liked the movie or not, unite because we love these characters and want the better for them in these movie adaptations.

Some posters here have been very antagonistic, and I have to say it's been from the anti-BvS side of things. We're all on the same boat guys- we all want these movies to be good.

 

We do and we shouldn't put each other down and compete with each other of the why and how. Yeah we can discuss topics but not to the point where we absolutely annoy each other when we don't agree on something. We are here because we love certain things and are here to enjoy that with others too. Not to prove who is right or wrong but to talk to each other as only fans can but in a good way.

Last weekend was a warzone here. The JL threads became my home for a bit.

 

I agree with this... Sad to see so many ppl hate the movie. I wonder what movie I watched, considering how much I loved ot. I do wonder if the movie was "better" to the ppl hating it on this boarf - would I end up not liking the movie as much? I'm all in on the dark/somber tones!

 

I gave it an 8, though I think it deserves slightly lower.. (they don't have a 7.5 or I would have given it that)

 

I was too late to vote, and I'm not sure how I would. As a DC comics spectacle, I liked it a lot, but (in common with all CBM's excepting Nolan's Batman trilogy), it was a clumsy and inelegant film.

8 for enjoyment, 6 for craft, perhaps.

 

Just got back. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be "empty." There was no real emotional core to the movie, nothing that drew me in and got me invested in the story. I didn't care about any of the characters, not because I don't like them, I do, but because the movie never gave me reason to. I can see where Snyder & Co. were going with Superman's and Batman's respective arcs, but IMO Supes' isn't fleshed out nearly enough and Bats' turns on a goofy twist. Wonder Woman looks amazing but sadly is little more than eye candy. Her inclusion is so obviously a corporate-ordered tack on it's embarrassing.

And on that note the whole thing feels like something designed by committee. I know Snyder gets a lot of grief but this felt a lot like a group effort.

All of that said I'm a sucker for CBMs and getting the Big Three on screen has to be worth at least 2 out of 4 stars. I just wish the characters had got a story worthy of them.

8/10. Solid movie with editing issues. Best batman to date. Henry Cavill looks like supes. Wish they would've gone a different direction with Lex. Should've been a corporate tycoon lex...

 

And with good reason listen to most of the complaints you have any idea how many times I had to answer questions that they should've known. Flaws aside and yes there are some the biggest problem here is so few people are paying attention. You're bored than emotionally invest into the characters until the action starts. A movie doesn't have to slow down to let you emotionally connect you can do that yourself by placing yourself in the characters position.

Your sadness is valid all the stupid it was no fun complaints are going to result in you losing the superhero movies you like there are already rumors that humor is being forced into suicide squad and JL will probably be a lot lighter and humorous. Kiss superhero movies like this goodbye, they're not sticking around. I have no friendly words to say to people this movie should've been a phenomenon but the stupid it's too dark, where's the fun factor ruined it. I have no friendly words for the public who might of stopped a franchise I really like dead in it's tracks.

And I doubt your view will remain the same when the only blockbusters we're getting are ones like Marvel Studios, can't wait for Apocalypse to under perform after all it's a third movie in a trilogy and those cannot be good. Can't wait for the fun and mindless movies to be the only well received movies again just like last year, way to go critics and public here's to you.

I share some of his unease, though. I would truly loathe a Marvelised DCU, but the indisputable financial success of that formula makes imitation of it an ever present risk.

 

Lol get outta here man. You come after anyone who likes the film. It was awesome and a lot of us enjoy the dark tone... Not your run of the mill laughathon drivel. Stop being salty about the movie. Sucks to be you and not enjoy the movie.

 

No, I don't. I actually like the film. I just don't like the way Batman seems to recklessly murder people.
