I heard rumors of a batman vs. superman comic issue I am kinda certain that it happens and I also heard of how it ends but what I am wondering is how it starts and what issues of what comic it happens in I wanna check this out it sounds pretty sweet.

Well...they've fought a few times.

They fight in Dark Knight Returns, Batman wins.
They fight in Batman: Hush, (Batman #614 was the fight issue I think) Batman wins.
Most recently Superman had his mind messed with and thought Batman was Doomsday, so went all out on him and beat em up pretty good. (Not sure what issue that was)

There may be more, but that's all I can think of right now.

lol sounds awesome that'll be my next issue I am not too into DC comics but the whole batman and superman thing is very intriguing

They fight in Dark Knight Returns, Batman wins. .

No, it was Batman in a super armored suit that was wired to Gotham's power supply, Robin in a tank, and Green Arrow with kryptonite arrows all against Superman who didn't want to fight. Supes was trying to talk while he was being punched and shot at. There was no Batman vs. Superman. Superman had also been powered down just before the fight by a nuke.

They fight in Batman: Hush, (Batman #614 was the fight issue I think) Batman wins. .
"Clark could use his super speed to flatten me like a pancake at any moment, but he's holding back" - Batman during this fight

This is accurate.

I'm not all pro-Superman and anti-Batman. I love them both but the idea of them fighting is so silly. Superman would absolutely destroy him. Batman is still awesome, despite not being a God. I'm not sure which of the two I like more... probably Superman, but I never want to see him fighting Batman.

1. The Dark Knight Returns is not in continuity.

Batman didn't fight Superman, it was more like Batman running away and doing small moves to stall Superman so Catwoman can capture Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, or Clark Kent so Superman could fight his mind control from Poison Ivy. Also, Superman was holding back.

It was in three issues, Superman #219, Action Comics #829, and Adventures of Superman #642. He thought that Batman was Brainiac killing Lois, Perry, Jimmy, and Lana; Darkseid enslaving Lois and killing her, and Ruin killing Lois. Superman did not hold back and fought Batman in rage. He would have killed Batman if Batman did not utilize the Watchtower's defense systems and Wonder Woman's intervention.

Batman was severely injured. He had to be healed with the Purple Healing Ray, Superman's fingerprints were impressed on Batman's flesh, his ribs were broken and were cracking whenever he breathed, he was burned by Superman's heat vision. He had to be carried back to the Batcave.

Superman later fought Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman #219, thinking that she was Doomsday killing Lois.

There may be more, but that's all I can think of right now.

"Because deep down, Clark is a good person."

Supes holds back in alot of fights. Though yes he was fighting the mind control.

Okay, in a straight-up fight, of course Superman would win. Superman would win any fight. He's Superman. Duh. But the thing is, Superman and Batman would never have a straight-up fight, because Superman is too much of a "good person" to ever really fight Batman with all he's got. I mean, it's like if some little three year old comes up to you and starts punching you in the crotch. You're gonna push the kid away, or smack him on the forehead, but you're not going to beat the living hell out of him. You're gonna do just enough to get him away from you. Does that mean you win the fight? Or that there even was a "fight"?

And as for Hush or whatever where an evil Superman beats the hell out of Batman, then (DANGER, CRAPPY NERD REASONING AHEAD) you can't call that a fair fight because it's just the body beating up Batman, with none of Superman's emotions or thinking behind it. And as we all know, what makes Superman a "good person" instead of a brute-force-killing-machine is his willingness to always preserve life.

Superman could beat Batman with his eyes closed. And I'm not evern joking when I say that. Batman could never beat Superman, Batman knows he could never beat Superman. It wouldn't be a fight.

I am going to have to agree superman is very very strong if he wanted to he can bench a planet on both sides of the bar. however bruce wayne is way way smarter than superman he can out smart clark kent and not think twice about it. think about it bruce runs a museum and a newspaper company yeah it is not a big thing but he is very inteligent where as superman can just fly and shoot **** from his eyes and stuff I hope you understand that I don't know how legible that was

Where is the "atreestump's name is a reference to his relative IQ" option?

You guys forgot in Lex Luthor: Man of Steel Superman beat Batman and Batman had a huge chunk of Kryptonite. Remember Kryptonite has little effect on Superman now. The more he is under the yellow sun the less effect it will have unless it is a large amount.

Have you got any covers of these issues to show us???

And thats another reason why Superman doesnt have good storys.

Superman, if he wanted to he would easily, but he never wants to hurt lesser beings.

My vote for Batman is largely based on favoritism and not 100% logic. Superman could cream Bats if he wanted to; I don't care because I like the Dark Knight much more. :word:

Anyway, the writers of DC comics can make any outcome they want to and it'll still sell...

If they want Supes ass handed to him by Batman, it can happen.

I wish (for the life of me) I could remember his name but there is a guy in armagedon 2001 superman issue three batman and robin vs. the man of tomorrow today, that saw into supermans future and he was killed by batman and robin. although insidentally superman killed manhunter

I'm pretty sure my dog ate it along with your testicles, and all your relative knowledge of anything batman or superman.

You people need to read Superman: Red Son.

Batman beats Superman without Kryptonite, and it's not until Wonder Woman gets freed (Batman tied that ho up) that Batman gets beat.
